BUDDING PROSPECTS (Amazon) - Joel David Moore ("Forever") has been cast in the pot-themed comedy pilot as Phil: "Felix's childhood pal, who's less introspective than Felix, the manic to Felix's "depressive." Better looking, more cocky and more outgoing than Felix, he's a little more secure in that he's found his art, a successful niche within his peer group. He thinks of himself as mechanically inclined, but often takes things apart and can't put them back together." (Deadline.com)
FREQUENCY (The CW) - Beth Lacke ("Work It") has booked an arc on the series as Meghan, "a troubled woman whose dark past may provide answers in Raimy's hunt for the serial killer who took her mother's life." (Deadline.com)
GOOD WIFE, THE (CBS) - Delroy Lindo has signed onto the spin-off series for CBS All Access as Robert Boseman, "an attorney who starts poaching Diane Lockhart's (Christine Baranski) associates and clients when she gets into financial trouble, and threatens her ability to stay in business." JOE 2.0 (ABC, New!) - Courtney Lilly ("Black-ish") has booked a single-camera comedy at the Alphabet "exploring what it means to be an African American man in today's society; where iconic pop culture moments are used to punctuate the everyday moments in the life of a recently divorced high school teacher." ABC Studios is behind the half-hour with director Tim Story and Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
KIN (FOX, New!) - Kevin O'Hare has sold a potential drama to the network about "a tight-knit Florida law-enforcement family who become the primary suspects in the disappearance of a notorious drug cartel leader following a DEA plane crash. But the undercover federal agent assigned to find out the truth is seduced by the loving and lethal clan, compromising his mission and his life." Andrew Lenchewski and DiVide Pictures' Milo Ventimiglia and Russ Cundiff will also executive produce the project, which has a penalty attached, for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (TNT) - Thomas Kretschmann and Benjamin Wadsworth are the latest additions to the drama pilot. The former will play Inspector Eriksson, "a foreign police officer who partners up with the FBI, who's been on the trail of Eli and her protector and enabler for a decade, and thinks they have killed over 100 victims." Wadsworth then is set as Henry, "a shy and lonely 16 year-old boy, who lives with his mother, and faces constant bullying from a trio of older kids-an almost daily torture. Henry becomes intrigued by his new neighbor, a girl named Eli (Kristine Froseth), unaware that she is a vampire." (Deadline.com)
MAGICIANS, THE (Syfy) - Leonard Roberts ("American Crime Story") is set to recur on the new season as King Idri of Loria, "a skilled swordfighter who is confident in his leadership and places great value upon his kingly duty." (Deadline.com)
MR. MERCEDES (Audience) - Harry Treadaway has been tapped as the new lead of David E. Kelley's upcoming drama series following the death of Anton Yelchin. Said effort follows Brady Hartsfield, "a mentally deranged ice cream truck driver and IT worker who is secretly the Mercedes Killer." Brendan Gleeson also stars Detective Bill Hodges, "a retired cop driven out of retirement when an old nemesis reappears." Director Jack Bender also serve as an executive produce for Sonar Entertainment alongside Temple Hill Entertainment's Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey. (THR.com)
RAINMAKER, THE (CBS, New!) - Michael Seitzman and Brett Mahoney are set to team for a small screen take on John Grisham's famed novel-turned-feature, about "a young lawyer who thinks he's about to have it all - a six-figure salary and a beautiful fiancée - but suddenly finds all that ripped away, squaring off against the behemoth firm he dreamed of joining, in a case that could get him killed." ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios are both behind the hour, which has a put pilot commitment. Grisham himself will also executive produce alongside said duo. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED SHARON LEE WATSON PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Sharon Lee Watson has landed a new drama at the Alphabet about "a team of physicians, working for a cable news operation, who travel the United States gaining access to our countries hot spots - medical mysteries, outbreaks, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters." The project, which has a penalty attached, is also being executive produced by Sanjay Gupta; Wendy Walker; Osprey Productions' Josh Berman; and The Firm's Jeff Kwatinetz and Josh Barry for Sony Pictures Television. WAR OF THE WORLDS (MTV, New!) - Andrew Cochran ("Teen Wolf") is developing a small screen take on H.G. Wells's classic alien invasion novel. Jeff Davis as well as The Firm's Josh Barry and Jeff Kwatinetz also serve as executive producers. No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
