Viewers Become Listeners With Investigation Discovery's Harrowing New 911 Series, "Murder Calls"
(Silver Spring, Md.) With real-life 911 calls as its launching point, Investigation Discovery's all-new series, MURDER CALLS, takes true-crime storytelling to new heights of intensity. Each episode tracks criminal investigations in which detectives must decipher the clues that lay within a 911 call. As the cases move forward, the calls ultimately lead investigators to the truth. MURDER CALLS will premiere on Sunday, January 15 at 11/10c following the finale of IS O.J. INNOCENT? THE MISSING EVIDENCE, then will debut in its normal timeslot beginning Monday, January 23 at 10/9c on Investigation Discovery (ID).
While ID is known for its award-winning visuals, the unique storytelling technique of MURDER CALLS lays within the audio. As the 911 call sets the tone, external sounds begin to set the scene: the creak in the corner, the buzz of a fluorescent light or the whir of a ceiling fan. Perhaps the most chilling of all is the silence that can trail a call.
In the premiere of MURDER CALLS at a special time on January 15 at 11/10c, immediately following the premiere of ID's IS O.J. INNOCENT? THE MISSING EVIDENCE, victims aren't the only ones dialing 911 when a bizarre 911 call comes in from a killer confessing his crime. Police in two cities connect multiple attacks to a whining voice on the other line, but will this "Weepy Voiced Killer" be stopped before another call is made?
Premieres for MURDER CALLS continue Mondays at 10/9c beginning on January 23:
