Comedy Central Snapchat Series What They Really Mean Starring Normand Debuts in May
NEW YORK, April 18, 2017 - New York City-based Mark Normand is one of the fastest-rising comedians in the comedy world right now. His own highly anticipated one-hour stand-up special Amy Schumer Presents Mark Normand: Don't Be Yourself premieres Friday, May 12 at Midnight ET/PT on Comedy Central. Vulture listed the hour as one of the "Can't Miss Specials" of 2017 alongside legendary comedians including Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, and Louis CK.
"Mark Normand will make you laugh and feel a lot better about yourself," said Schumer.
In his first one-hour special, Normand elevates the plight of the introvert, dissecting the simple interactions in life that can be nightmares for less outgoing people. With precise comedic timing and deft delivery, Normand tackles dating, parties, small talk, manliness, and all the pitfalls of "being yourself," leaving audiences doubled over in laughter and freshly enlightened about life as a shy-guy.
Leading up to the on-air premiere, Comedy Central Stand-Up and cc.com/Mark_Normand will feature preview clips from the special. Clips from Don't Be Yourself will also be available in the CC app and the Comedy Central channel on Snapchat Discover. Fans can follow Comedy Central Stand-Up at @standup, and tweet using the hashtag #DontBeYourself to join the social conversation around the special. In support of the special, Normand will also star in this May's Comedy Central Snapchat series What They Really Mean, in which he explains what people are actually getting at when they say any number of misleading statements.
Amy Schumer Presents Mark Normand: Don't Be Yourself will be available on Saturday, March 13 on cc.com and in the Comedy Central App. The extended and uncensored album released by Comedy
Central Records, home to the biggest names in stand-up, will be available for digital download on Tuesday, May 16. The album and special will be available for pre-order on iTunes on April 25.
Mark Normand is one of the most respected, prolific comedians coming up in the comedy scene today. Prior to filming Don't Be Yourself, Normand starred in his own episode of Comedy Central's The Half Hour in 2014, and his well-liked comedy album Still Got It was released on Comedy Central Records that same year. The album was named one of the "10 Best Comedy Specials or Albums of 2014 (so far)" by Paste Magazine and one of the "Top Ten Comedy Albums of 2014" by The Interrobang. Mark is also co-host alongside fellow comic Joe List of the popular podcast Tuesdays with Stories, which is available on iTunes and Laughable and has over 800,000 followers on SoundCloud.
In addition to his stand-up, Normand has been featured on several popular TV comedy series, including Louis CK's digital series Horace and Pete, Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer, and NBC's Last Comic Standing.
