OVATION TV DEBUTS THE U.S. PREMIERE OF "LANDSCAPE ARTIST OF THE YEAR" STARTING JUNE 28
Popular British Competition Series Features Talented Artists at Work as They Paint Breathtaking Locations All Around the UK - From Wilderness to Historical Landmarks
Los Angeles, CA - May 30, 2017 Painting has never been more exciting as talented artists from across the UK vie to become Landscape Artist of the Year in the hit British competition series premiering in the US for the first time on Ovation TV, America's only arts network. The network will air two seasons of the series on Wednesday mornings starting at June 28 at 7:00am ET.
Amateur and professional artists from all over the UK were invited to submit their landscape paintings. From thousands of applications, six artists per episode are chosen to paint breathtaking locations all around the country - from beautiful wilderness to historical buildings and landmarks. The talented contestants face against the-clock challenges and at the end of each episode, the judges decide on the best work.
The winner of each episode will go on to compete in the semi-finals and if successful - the final. But they aren't the only ones trying to catch the judges' eye. Up to 50 more artists will descend on each location to try their luck as wild cards, and if they impress they could also see themselves in the semi-final and beyond.
Hosted by Joan Bakewell and Frank Skinner with judges Tai Shan Schierenbery, Kathleen Soriano and Kate Bryan, Landscape Artist of the Year will air back-to-back episodes starting Wednesday, June 28 at 7:00am ET.
Season One Premiere
Ep. 101 - Lyme Park 1 - Wednesday, June 28 at 7:00am ET
Joan Bakewell and Frank Skinner welcome the artists to paint the impressive Lyme Park in Cheshire in just four hours in a bid to impress judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kate Bryan and Kathleen Soriano. The artist that impresses the most will go through to the semifinal and get one step closer to claiming the prize. But there's a twist, up to 50 more artists are coming to Lyme Park to try their luck as a Wild Card, and if they impress they could also see themselves in the semifinal.
Ep. 102 - Trelissick 1 - Wednesday, June 28 at 8:00am ET
The contestants set up their easels at Trelissick, on the Fal Estuary in Cornwall, to capture on canvas the stunning views of one of the most amazing natural settings in the country. Under the watchful eyes of judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kathleen Soriano and Kate Bryan, the artists compete to be named Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2015 and win a �10,000 commission to paint a National Trust place for its permanent art collection.
Ep. 103 - Waddesdon Manor 1 - Wednesday, July 5 at 7:00am ET
Joan Bakewell and Frank Skinner welcome the artists to Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire for episode three of the series that aims to unearth a new star of the arts world. Portrait artist Tai Shan Schierenberg, curator Kathleen Soriano and art dealer Kate Bryan will circulate among the contestants, assessing their talents and skills, as they capture the beauty of the stunning National Trust property.
Ep. 104 - Lyme Park 2 - Wednesday, July 5 at 8:00am ET
Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell welcome the artists to Lyme Park, Cheshire. Nestling on the edge of the Peak District, Lyme Park was originally a remote hunting lodge. In Tudor times a house was built on the site and in the early 18th Century it was turned into an Italianate palace by the Venetian architect Leoni. Today it stands in a stunning park with commanding views of the Cheshire Plains. The artist will have their work assessed by the judges and compete for a place in the semi-final.
Ep. 105 - Waddesdon Manor 2 - Wednesday, July 12 at 7:00am ET
Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell return to Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire as a new group of artists attempt to capture the stunning views of the magnificent National Trust property on canvas. Setting up their easels at the back of the French Renaissance-style chateau built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in 1874, the artists will face out towards the breathtaking parterre. The competitors come under close scrutiny as they hope their brushstrokes will earn them a place in the semi-final.
Ep. 106 - Trelissick 2 - Wednesday, July 12 at 8:00am ET
Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell return to Trelissick, on the Fal Estuary in Cornwall, to challenge another group of artists to capture the stunning views of the magnificent National Trust property on canvas. the contestants are positioned in front of the grand house, once owned by former director of the Bank of England Leonard Cunliffe and they will be closely scrutinized by the judges as they create a piece of work over a four-hour period that they hope will earn them a place in the semi-final.
Ep. 107 - Semi-Finals - Wednesday, July 19 at 7:00am ET
Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell introduce the semi-final of this year's Landscape Artist of the Year competition. The six victorious artists from the heats are joined by a winning wildcard entry at Potters Fields Park, where they are asked to paint the urban landscape in front of them, which features Tower Bridge and the City. The judges will circulate among them as they capture the stunning view on canvas, before just three are selected to progress to next week's final at Stourhead, Wiltshire.
Ep. 108 - Finals - Wednesday, July 19 at 8:00am ET
Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell present the final of this year's inaugural Landscape Artist of the Year competition from Stourhead in Wiltshire. The three finalists will set up their easels opposite the lake and will have 4 hours to capture the breathtaking view on canvas. As they get to work, judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kathleen Soriano and Kate Bryan will observe their progress, before declaring the winner, who will receive a �10,000 commission to paint another National Trust landscape.
Ep. 109 - Winner - Wednesday, July 26 at 7:00am ET
After eight weeks of searching the country for a new landscape artist, a Landscape Artist of the Year 2015 has been crowned. 48 professional and amateur artists, braved the wind and rain to produce an array of stunning works of art. But, in the end, only one could win. Following in the footsteps of John Constable, we discover more about the winner as they travel to 'Constable Country' to take on their commission that will become part of the National Trust's permanent collection.

Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell are back and on the hunt for next Landscape Artist of the Year. In this first heat, 8 new artists use paint, collage and even J-cloths as they tackle the beautiful Scotney Castle in Kent in a bid to impress judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kate Bryan and Kathleen Soriano. The artist will compete for a chance to win �10,000 commission to paint one of the National Trust's most beloved properties, Petworth House made famous by Turner.

In this second heat, 8 new artists use spray paint, stencils and pastels as they tackle the beautiful Wray Castle in Cumbria in a bid to impress judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kate Bryan and Kathleen Soriano.
Ep. 203 - Stowe 1 - Wednesday, August 2 at 8:00am ET
In this third heat 8 new artists use paint, pencils and even a printing press as they tackle the beautiful Stowe in Buckinghamshire in a bid to impress judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kate Bryan and Kathleen Soriano.

In this fifth heat, 8 new artists use paint, fabric and even bleach as they tackle the beautiful Wray Castle in Cumbria in a bid to impress judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kate Bryan and Kathleen Soriano.

In this final heat 8 new artists use all manner of paints, wool and even draught excluders as they tackle the beautiful Stowe in Buckinghamshire in a bid to impress judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kate Bryan and Kathleen Soriano.
Ep. 207 - Margate Harbour - Wednesday, August 16 at 8:00am ET
This week Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell are in the seaside town of Margate for the Semi-Final of Landscape Artist of the Year.

Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell conclude the journey to find undiscovered artists' talent on the banks of Loch Ness for the Final of Landscape Artist of the Year.
Ep. 209 - Petworth - Wednesday, August 23 at 8:00am ET
Landscape Artist of The Year 2016 takes on the winning commission, painting Petworth House, in the South Downs National Park. The winner beat off 48 other hopefuls to the top prize after taking on Urquhart Castle at Loch Ness. The winner's painting will soon hang among the impressive art collection featured in Petworth.
All episodes will be available on SVOD the day after airing.
