NEW YORK, June 2, 2017 - Roy Wood Jr. has been named the new host of Comedy Central's wild storytelling series, This Is Not Happening, which will film its fourth season this weekend in Hollywood for a fall premiere on Comedy Central. Comedians scheduled to perform during the upcoming season include Louie Anderson, Sandra Bernhard, Drew Carey, Tommy Chong, Tiffany Haddish, Darrell Hammond, Lil Rel Howery, Talib Kweli, Al Madrigal, Howie Mandel, Kevin Smith and Scott Thompson, among many others.

This Is Not Happening is set to film 20 new episodes hosted by Wood Jr. in front of a live audience at Cheetahs in Hollywood June 4-7 and June 19-22 at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets to This Is Not Happening tapings are free and may be requested at http://www.theblacklistnyc.com/tinh. The new season is scheduled to premiere fall 2017 on Comedy Central. This Is Not Happening originally debuted as a digital series on cc.com which will continue to feature exclusive digital stories throughout the run of the new season this fall.

In 2015, Wood Jr. became a part of "The Best F#@ing News Team" as a correspondent on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. He has been described by The Hollywood Reporter as "A standout," and Entertainment Weekly called his brand of thought provoking comedy as "charismatic crankiness." In 2016, Variety named him one of "10 Comics to Watch." He filmed his first one-hour stand-up special, Roy Wood Jr.: Father Figure, at Center Stage in Atlanta, which premiered on Comedy Central on February 19.

This Is Not Happening was created by Ari Shaffir, Eric Abrams and Avalon's Sam Saifer. Jeff Tomsic, Saifer, and Abrams (who serves as showrunner and director) are Executive Producers. Mark Palansky is also directing. Anne Harris and Ryan Moran are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central.

Comedy Central is the home for stand-up, featuring original one-hour specials from a wide variety of incredibly talented comedians including Amy Schumer, Daniel Tosh, Pete Davidson, Kyle Kinane, Lewis Black, Hannibal Buress, Natasha Leggero, Chris Hardwick, Brian Regan, and more, as well as a diverse slate of original series ranging from the part-stand-up/part-travelogue Kevin Hart Presents: Hart of the City, to long-form storytelling show This Is Not Happening, to super-sized stand-up exhibition Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents, to comedy and music hybrid series The Comedy Jam.
