ALEXA & KATIE (Netflix) - Eddie Shin, Jolie Jenkins and Emery Kelly have all signed onto the multi-camera comedy. Shin will play Dave, "Alexa's father, an easygoing airline pilot who supports his family in good times and challenging ones"; with Jenkins as Jennifer, "Katie's single mom who's doing everything she can to keep them in their nice neighborhood from pinching pennies to bettering herself by taking classes to be a psychologist"; and Kelly as Lucas, "a high school junior who recently realized his apparent good looks." AMERICAN HORROR STORY (FX) - Colton Haynes is the latest actor bound for the franchise's seventh edition. (@mrrpmurphy)
ATLANTA'S MOST WANTED (FOX, New!) - Tip "T.I." Harris is set to star in and executive produce a potential drama at the network about Marcus Armstrong (Harris). "Born in Atlanta to an infamous criminal father, he is recruited to be a part of a new vice squad that tackles the growing criminal elements in his hometown. Marcus' involvement will jeopardize his own long-held secret that threatens to upend his entire life." Rodney Barnes is penning the script, which has a significant penalty attached, for 20th Century Fox Television with Jerry Bruckheimer Television's Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and KristieAnne Reid as well as Brian Sher and Rob Hardy also executive producing. Mitzi Miller serves as co-executive producer with James Oh as a producer. (Deadline.com)
DANGEROUS BOOK FOR BOYS, THE (Amazon) - Gabriel Bateman is the first to be cast in the upcoming comedy, which "tells the story of Wyatt (Bateman) and his brothers coping with the death of their inventor father, Patrick. Patrick leaves his sons a copy of The Dangerous Book for Boys, which inspires a whimsical fantasy world that allows Wyatt to feel connected to his father while gaining skills that apply to his real life." GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Former series regular Kim Raver will reprise her role as Teddy Altman, "the former head of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital," for a guest arc on the upcoming 14th season. (Deadline.com)
HAPPY VALLEY (HBO) - Riley Keough has joined the Al Pacino-led docudrama as Sara Ganim, "the 23-year-old journalist who first reported on the Sandusky case, bringing it to the attention of the Happy Valley, PA, community and national media. She won a Pulitzer Prize for her reporting." (Deadline.com)
SNOWPIERCER (TNT) - Roberto Urbina and Katie McGuinness are bound for the ever-expanding cast of the drama pilot as Avi, who "works on the Breach Team, the train's equivalent of a fireman"; and Josie McConnell, "a strong, no-nonsense woman who lives in poverty at the tail of the train," respectively. WATCHMEN (HBO) - Damon Lindelof is reportedly in talks to spearhead the famed comic book's small screen adaptation. Zack Snyder, director of the 2009 feature, was previously in "preliminary discussions" with the pay channel back in October of 2015. Snyder is no longer attached. (Deadline.com)
WAYWARD SISTERS (The CW, New!) - Kim Rhodes is set to topline a potential "Supernatural" spin-off in which her character, Sheriff Jody Mills, trains and protects "a group of troubled young women, all of them orphaned by supernatural tragedy." Robert Berens and Andrew Dabb will pen the backdoor pilot episode for the upcoming 13th season, with Robert Singer and Phil Sgriccia likewise attached to executive produce for Warner Bros. Television should it move forward. It's not clear if other "Supernatural" characters will make the transition with Claire Novak (Kathryn Love Newton), Alex Jones (Katherine Ramdeen) and Donna Hanscum (Briana Buckmaster) among those speculated in the report.
