ADULT BEHAVIOR (ABC, New!) - Allan Heinberg ("The Catch") has sold a new hour to the Alphabet "described as a sexy, multi-generational, comedic drama" inspired by Russell T Davies's U.K. entries "Cucumber" and "Banana." Davies, Shondaland's Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers as well as Julie Gardner of Bad Wolf and Nicola Shindler of Red Production Company will executive produce. Said effort is part of a new overall deal with ABC Studios and sibling ABC Signature to develop series projects. (Deadline.com)
ASSASSINATION OF GIANNI VERSACE, THE: AMERICAN CRIME STORY (FX) - Finn Wittrock has been cast as Jeff Trail, "a friend of Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss) but also the serial killer's first victim." (EW.com)
DESIGNATED SURVIVOR (ABC) - Virginia Madsen won't return as Kimble Hookstraten for the show's second season. (@madlyv)
HIT THE ROAD (Audience) - Amy Pietz, Natalie Sharp, Nick Marini, Tim Johnson, Jr. and Maddie Dixon-Poirer have all joined the upcoming Jason Alexander-led comedy series, about a chaotically dysfunctional family of would-be rock/pop stars as they traverse the country in a cramped tour bus sacrificing privacy, comfort and dignity while in search of fame and fortune. Pietz is Maggie, "the bohemian, unorthodox mom"; with Sharp as Ria, "the supremely talented diva who has her sights set on stardom"; Marini as Sam, "the impulsive and endearing son who aims to please"; Johnson as Jermaine, "the smart, slightly neurotic adopted son who seeks stability more than anything else"; and Dixon-Poirier as Casey, "the youngest sibling and the moral compass of the family." INTERVENTIONIST, THE (Paramount, New!) - Tom Arnold's "life as a recovering addict and interventionist for substance abusers in LA" is set to be the focus of a potential single-camera comedy for the cable channel. Writer Steve Pink and director Alex Hardcastle are behind the half-hour (which was originally sold to TV Land) with Arnold, Glenn Porter and Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor likewise executive producing. LOVE (Netflix) - Kathy Baker and Kyle Bornheimer are both bound for the show's third season as Vicki, Gus's (Paul Rust) mother, and Ken, Gus's older brother. (Deadline.com)
QUANTICO (ABC) - Michael Seitzman ("Code Black") has been tapped as showrunner for the show's third season with Priyanka Chopra, Jake McLaughlin, Johanna Braddy and Blair Underwood as the only returning series regulars. He'll also continue to oversee his CBS drama, which likewise has a 13-episode order for midseason. (Deadline.com)
SEA OAK (Amazon) - Rae Gray and Jack Quaid have both joined the cast of the Glenn Close-led comedy pilot. No specifics were given about their characters. Additionally, Hiro Murai is set to direct and executive produce the half-hour while Evan Dunsky has likewise signed on as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
TAKEN (NBC) - Clive Standen (Bryan Mills) and Jennifer Beals (Christina Hart) are the only series regulars slated to return for the show's revamped second season. Missing the cut are Gaius Charles (John), Brooklyn Sudano (Asha), Monique Gabriela Curnen (Vlasik), Michael Irby (Scott), Jose Pablo Cantillo (Dave) and James Landry Hébert (Rem). (TVLine.com)
TRUST (FX) - Michael Esper has been cast as John Paul Getty II - father to John Paul Getty III (Harris Dickinson) and son to J. Paul Getty (Donald Sutherland) - in the limited series, while Veronica Echegui will recur as Luciana, "the youngest member of J. Paul Getty's harem and also the most highly strung."
