THREE-TIME PRO BOWLER GREG OLSEN TEAMS WITH
FOX SPORTS AS NFL GAME ANALYST
NEW YORK - On the heels of pairing the NFL's most famous twins, Tiki and Ronde Barber, in the broadcast booth earlier this season, FOX Sports furthers its commitment to bringing insightful voices to its game coverage by adding current Carolina Panther tight end Greg Olsen Sunday, Nov. 19 as game analyst. The announcement was made today by John Entz, FOX Sports President of Production & Executive Producer.
"We are really looking forward to having Greg join our coverage," Entz said. "As a current player, his unique insight and knowledge of today's game and players provides a great addition to our broadcast."
Olsen joins Kevin Burkhardt, Charles Davis and Pam Oliver, as the Los Angeles Rams visit the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium. The addition of Olsen to the broadcast booth occurs for one game only, Week 11, during his team's bye week. This marks the third time in the network's history that an active NFL player steps into the booth as a full game analyst during the regular season, succeeding Matt Hasselbeck (2014) and Marcus Allen (1994).
"It's going to be a little strange making the transition from the field to the broadcast booth this week, but I'm really pumped to take on the challenge," Olsen said.
Olsen was selected by the Chicago Bears in the 2007 NFL Draft as the 31st pick overall. After four strong seasons, he was traded to the Carolina Panthers in 2011. Quickly establishing a name for himself in North Carolina, Olsen played a key role in the Panthers' Super Bowl 50 berth against the Denver Broncos. To date, Olsen has made three consecutive Pro Bowl appearances and is the first tight end to record three consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons.
