CHICAGO MED (NBC) - Michel Gill has been tapped to recur on the new season as Robert "Bob" Haywood, "the estranged father of Dr. Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo). Haywood comes to Med ostensibly as a patient, but wreaks havoc with his daughter when he re-enters the picture." (THR.com)
CRIMETOWN (FX, New!) - Writers Marc Smerling and Zac Stuart-Pontier are set to team with director Ted Melfi for a new drama billed as "a story of organized crime and municipal corruption in Providence, RI." The project is based on Gimlet Media's serial documentary podcast of the same name by the former duo. Color Force's Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson are also attached to executive produce. (Deadline.com)
DANNI LOWINSKI (NBC, New!) - Ian Brennan ("Scream Queens") is looking to import Marc Terjung's German series as a single-camera comedy about "a working-class woman who is whip-smart, mouthy and undeniably herself. But when she's rejected by every straight-laced traditional law firm in Milwaukee, she decides to change the world from her mall-kiosk law practice, one dollar-a-minute case at a time." The CW previously commissioned an hour-long pilot based on the series in 2011 with Amanda Walsh in the title role. Intrigue Entertainment's Tariq Jalil and Lucas Carter; Red Arrow Entertainment Group's Jan David Frouma; Michael Schmidt and Shirley Bowers also serve as executive producers for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
DIETLAND (AMC) - Tramell Tillman and Will Seefried have both scored roles on the upcoming series. Tillman will play Steven, "owner of a Brooklyn bakery and café frequented by Plum"; with Seefried as Ben, "the cute, sweet and overly accommodating server at Steven's café who also happens to harbor an unrequited - perhaps even completely unnoticed - crush on Plum." (Deadline.com)
DYNASTY (The CW) - Kelly Rutherford will drop by the newcomer as Melissa Daniels, "whose seemingly perfect marriage to a powerful senator is revealed to be nothing more than a face-saving sham. In private, she's actually a "spiraling lush" whose life story serves as a cautionary tale to Cristal about the dangers of marrying men in high places." (TVLine.com)
ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA (Showtime) - Michael Imperioli will guest on the upcoming limited series as Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, "who ordered the official investigation into all factors involved in the escape of convicted murderers Richard Matt (Benicio Del Toro) and David Sweat (Paul Dano) from Clinton Correctional Facility." (Variety.com)
FAMILY CRIMES (Starz, New!) - Writer/director David Ayer (Suicide Squad) has set up a potential drama at the pay channel which "centers on a young privileged Latina who must reinvent herself in order to save her family when the feds close in on their business with the Mexican mob. She quickly learns to navigate the criminal underworld and finds herself trapped in a web of complex rules, rivalries and deep politics." Jerry Bruckheimer Television's Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and KristieAnne Reed will also serve as executive producers on the project, which is eyed for a straight-to-series order. (Deadline.com)
FEAR THE WALKING DEAD (AMC) - Jenna Elfman is the latest tapped for a series regular role on the show's fourth season. No specifics however were given. (Deadline.com)
NICKY, RICKY, DICKY & DAWN/SCHOOL OF ROCK (Nickelodeon) - The cable channel has pulled the plug on both series after four and three seasons, respectively. Paramount Television, the studio behind the latter, plans to shop it elsewhere. "Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn" will roll out its de facto swan song in early 2018 while "School of Rock" is six episodes into its third season run. (Deadline.com)
NOBODIES (TV Land) - The Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone-produced single-camera comedy will move to Paramount Network for its second season. Said 12-episode run is set to premiere in the spring. (THR.com)
ROYALS, THE (E!) - Lionsgate Television has suspended executive producer Mark Schwahn "following a slew of sexual harassment allegations against him made by the female cast and crew of his previous series, 'One Tree Hill.'" Filming has already wrapped on the show's fourth season, due next year. (Deadline.com)
VEEP (HBO) - Executive producer Frank Rich has confirmed production has been delayed on the series "while star Julia Louis-Dreyfus undergoes treatment for breast cancer." (Deadline.com)
