STRIP DOWN AND SEEK SHELTER FOR THE TOUGHEST SEASON YET OF DISCOVERY CHANNEL'S "NAKED AND AFRAID"
All-New Season Premieres Sunday, March 11 at 10pm ET/PT
(New York) - Television's most extreme survival challenge is back and tougher than ever before when NAKED AND AFRAID returns to Discovery Channel. Set around the world in the most punishing environments, survivalists will have to withstand vicious predators and deadly storms... all without food, water, shelter, and clothing. From the storm-ravaged jungles of Nicaragua to the eye of the storm in Florida, it's mankind against mother nature in its most primitive form. The raw, real, all-new season of NAKED AND AFRAID returns Sunday, March 11 at 10pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel. Viewers can also watch the season premiere, along with past seasons, on the Discovery GO app.
For 21 days, two complete strangers are paired together and tasked to survive against the relentless elements of the wild. Hungry predators, volatile climates, and scarce food and water are just baseline challenges in each location; this season, survivalists struggle through lethal hurricanes, severe injuries and infections, deadly flash-flooding, and grueling physical and mental emergencies. This season, survivalists range from a fashion tour producer, to a retired marine, to a female Iraqi native who lived in the desert with her family during the war and a biologist with extensive outdoor experience find themselves inserted in the wildlands of Florida - where they are suddenly in the path of Hurricane Irma.
Skill, a good partner, and the will to keep going no matter what comes your way, is a typical path to success. Each twosome will have to grapple with immeasurable anguish as they attempt to create shelter, forage for food, and find water in the nude. The perils of the wild are more terrifying than ever before, and only the strongest - both physically and mentally - will come out on the other side of 21 days.
NAKED AND AFRAID is produced for Discovery Channel by Renegade 83; David Garfinkle, Jay Renfroe, Steve Rankin and Mathilde Bittner are executive producers. For Discovery, Joseph Boyle and Michael Gara are executive producers and Greg Wolf is coordinating producer.
