SONY CRACKLE ANNOUNCES SCRIPTED ORIGINAL SERIES DEVELOPMENT SLATE

New York, April 24, 2018 - Sony Crackle announced their development slate of scripted original series at the network's upfront presentation today at Sony Headquarters New York. Series include projects from Cameron Litvack ("Quantico"), Kevin Connolly ("Entourage," "Gotti"), and best-selling novelist Neal Shusterman and Jon Hurwitz ("Cobra Kai," "Harold and Kumar" franchise).

Below are the projects in development:

"Heart of Darkness"

"Heart of Darkness" is a reimagining of Joseph Conrad's classic novel. Set in the future where Earth is a distant memory, "Heart of Darkness" explores what it means to be human on a space odyssey where the survival of the human race hangs in the balance. The book's themes of race, immigration, and colonization have never been more relevant than they are today. "Heart of Darkness" is executive produced by Cameron Litvack (also showrunner/writer), Branden Morgan and Tony Giglio.

"Hustle"

Created by Kenny Neibart ("Entourage"), starring Kevin Connolly ("Entourage") and directed by Nick Cassavetes ("John Q," "The Notebook), "Hustle," based on true accounts from one of the nation's top college basketball recruiters, is about an assistant coach willing to do whatever it takes to bring the best prospects in the world to his squad, be it unethical, immoral or illegal. "Hustle" is produced by Kenny Neibart, Kevin Connolly, Nick Cassavetes, Chuck Pacheco, William Rotko, Douglas Banker, John Cheng and Yanni Hufnagel.

"Cry Victory"

Created by best-selling novelist Neal Shusterman and his son Jarrod Shusterman, who recently sold their thriller novel "Dry" to Paramount Pictures, "Cry Victory" takes us ahead after years of fighting a war with an invading alien army, humanity has prevailed and sent them packing. Now, a soldier returns home from the front lines, and realizes the true war will be dealing with the anarchy left by the invasion, as gangs use alien weaponry to police the streets and people get high on extra-terrestrial drugs. "Cry Victory" is executive produced by Neal and Jarrod Shusterman, Ruben Fleischer, David Bernad, Elias Gertler, Alison Rosenzweig, Michael Gaeta and Sean Jablonski.

"Limitless: Origins"

Based on the feature film of the same name starring Bradley Cooper, this new series explores the origin story of how the drug NZT first hit the streets. From the pill's creator, to patient zero and beyond, "Limitless: Origins" examines the cost of chasing super human abilities. "Limitless: Origins" is produced by Critical Content with Tom Forman, Andrew Marcus and Ray Ricord serving as executive producers.

"Squad Goals Squad"

From the creators of Harold and Kumar, "Squad Goals Squad" is written by Cooper Sukaly, who is also a producer along with Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Matt Lottman. When an epidemic of youth crime hits Los Angeles, the police have no choice but to form a diverse, dysfunctional unit of millennial crimefighters called... the SQUAD GOALS SQUAD. "Squad Goals Squad" is executive produced by Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, Matt Lottman and Cooper Sukaly.
