CASTLE ROCK (Hulu) - Allison Tolman will recur on the upcoming series as Melanie Lynskey's character's sister. (Deadline.com)
GAME OF THRONES (HBO) - The pay channel has greenlit a pilot for one of the franchise's five proposed spin-off series. Said installment, a prequel from George R.R. Martin and writer Jane Goldman, is described as chronicling "the world's descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros' history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend... it's not the story we think we know." Vince Gerardis and Daniel Zelman will also serve as executive producers. Additional potential spin-offs are being spearheaded by Max Borenstein, Brian Helgeland, Carly Wray and Bryan Cogman. (Deadline.com)
PEOPLE OF EARTH (TBS) - The cable channel has rescinded its third season order for the comedy series. Creator David Jenkins took to Twitter to explain that, "Season three, which is already written, will not be shot. Season two is the last season." (@david_jenkins__)
TIME TRAVELIN' JERK (FX, New!) - Billy Eichner has set up a potential animated series at the cable channel which "tells the story of Ashley, a hilariously irreverent, whip-smart millennial girl, who gets stuck time traveling and absolutely hates it... but tries to make the most of it along the way." Eichner, Doug Brady and Anna Wenger are co-writing the project with Eichner voicing the main male character, Parker, "an awkwardly sweet accountant who becomes Ashley's time traveling partner in crime." No studio was indicated. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ALANNA THOMPSON PROJECT (Showtime, New!) - Alanna Thompson has sold a potential comedy to the pay channel which "focuses on relationships from three perspectives: a monogamous couple, an open couple and two singles who meet and fall in love at a swingers party." Daniel March and Holly Hines of Dynamic Television will serve as executive producers with Elena Blekhter as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ANNA DELVEY PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - Shonda Rhimes and her Shondaland banner are developing Jessica Pressler's New York Magazine article "How Anna Delvey Tricked New York's Party People" as a potential drama series. The article chronicles "the incredible rise and fall of now-infamous Anna Delvey (real name Anna Sorokin) who, through web of lies, scammed her way into becoming an "it" girl on the New York social scene and nearly launched a Soho House-type club." Rhimes herself will pen the hour, her first as part of the company's new overall deal with Netflix, with Betsy Beers also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
