BLESS HER HEART (ABC, New!) - Chuck Tatham has scored a put pilot commitment from the Alphabet for a multi-camera comedy about "two very different Texas matriarchs who wreak havoc on their children's lives when they all wind up living together." That's Wonderful Productions' Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
KUNG FU (FOX) - Albert Kim is spearheading a present-day sequel series to the 1970s staple, about "a young Chinese-American woman who inherits her father's kung fu studio, only to discover it's actually a secret center dedicated to helping members of the Chinatown community who have nowhere else to turn. With the help of a former star pupil - a smart and driven ex-Marine - she vows to continue the school's mission." Last season, Wendy Mericle was behind said project, which featured a different premise set in the 1950s. Warner Bros. TV-based Berlanti Productions' Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will continue to executive produce the hour, which again has a put pilot commitment. (Deadline.com)
L.A.'S FINEST (Charter) - David Fumero and Jordan Rodrigues are both set to recur on the Gabrielle Union/Jessica Alba-led drama. The former will play Jason Calloway, "an LAPD lieutenant with the Narcotics Division. He and Syd had a one-night stand that colors their occasionally adversarial relationship around the office." The latter then is Arlo, "a menacing figure who always appears cool, calm, and collected." (Deadline.com)
MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE, THE (Amazon) - Marc Rissmann is bound for the show's fourth season as Obergruppenführer Wilhelm Goertzmann, "a formidable new force in the Nazi Reich. Goertzmann's confident and measured charm rankles John Smith (Rufus Sewell). Goertzmann proves himself to be a worthy adversary and a very dangerous threat - not just to Smith, but to Himmler himself." (Deadline.com)
PROVEN INNOCENT (FOX) - Tiffany Dupont and Catherine Lidstone are the latest set to recur on the midseason drama as Nikki Russo, "a badass policewoman who knows how to protect herself"; and Isabel Sanchez, "a recent law school graduate who is smart, fresh-faced, driven, and eager," respectively. (Deadline.com)
STATION 19 (ABC) - Boris Kodjoe's Robert Sullivan has been named series regular for the show's sophomore run. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MURRAY & PENN PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Kal Penn is set to star in a potential comedy for the Peacock about "a disgraced New York City Councilman and former baseball wunderkind Garrett Shah (Penn) who finds his calling when faced with six recent immigrants in search of the American Dream." Penn will co-write the Universal TV-based half-hour, which has a put pilot commitment, alongside Matt Murray. Fremulon's Michael Schur, 3 Arts Entertainment's David Miner and Industry Entertainment's Dan Spilo are also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
WHITES (NBC) - The Peacock is taking another stab at importing Oliver Lansley and Matt King's U.K. series, "set in the fast-paced and hilarious kitchen at a beautiful restaurant in upstate New York. Roland White, a disgraced wunderkind of the New York culinary scene, has spent the past three years here in exile, and things are complicated when the owner hires Emily, a new pastry chef who is as gluten-free, farm-to-table and gender-neutral-pronoun-using as anyone on the planet." Matt Tarses is penning the Sony Pictures TV-based project with Lansley, King, Artists First's Peter Principato and Electric Avenue's Will Arnett and Marc Forman likewise executive producing. Ron Weiner was behind a previous attempt by the network in 2012. (Deadline.com)
WOMAN SCOUTS (NBC, New!) - Allison Hord ("Late Night with Seth Meyers") has sold a potential comedy to the Peacock about "a feminist who, after dropping out of grad school, pledges to kickstart the lives of a group of women by becoming an adult Girl Scout troop." Universal TV-based Sethmaker Shoemayers Productions is behind the project with Charlie Grandy, Seth Meyers and Mike Shoemaker executive producing and Hord as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
