COUPLES THERAPY (Showtime, New!) - Josh Kriegman and Elyse Steinberg have set up a nine-episode series at the pay channel which "four couples in therapy over several months with New York psychoanalyst Dr. Orna Guralnik." The project will launch Friday, September 6. (THR.com)
DISPATCHES FROM ELSEWHERE (AMC) - Tara Lynne Barr will recur on the anthology series as Janice, "the younger version of [Sally] Field's character who is a housewife and recently lost her husband of many years in present day." (Deadline.com)
EVIL (CBS) - Christine Lahti has signed onto the newcomer as Katja Herber's mother, Sheryl Luria. She replaces Dierdre O'Connell, "who played the role in the pilot and couldn't continue on the series because of scheduling conflicts." (Deadline.com)
GOOD DOCTOR, THE (ABC) - Jasika Nicole's Carly Lever is the latest to earn series regular status on the medical drama. Meanwhile, original series regular Tamlyn Tomita's Allegra Aoki has been downgraded to recurring. (TVLine.com)
MOM (CBS) - Kristen Johnston's Tammy, "who was a foster sister to Bonnie (Allison Janney) during their teen years," has been named regular for the show's upcoming seventh season. (TVLine.com)
MOVIES THAT MADE US, THE (Netflix, New!) - The Nacelle Company is spinning off "The Toys That Made Us" with "The Movies That Made Us," a new documentary series which will take a deep dive into such films as Die Hard, Home Alone, Dirty Dancing and Ghostbusters. Brian Volk Weiss, Cisco Henson, Ben Frost and Jay Chapman are the executive producers. Both "The Movies That Made Us" and a third season of "The Toys That Made Us" are due later this year. MURDER IN THE BAYOU (Showtime, New!) - The pay channel has commissioned five episodes of a new documentary series which "investigates the deaths of eight women in Louisiana's Jefferson Davis Parish between 2005 and 2009." Look for the first episode on Friday, September 13. No auspices were given. (THR.com)
NASH BRIDGES (USA, New!) - The cable channel is reportedly mulling a revival of the Don Johnson-led 1996-2001 series, in which Nash Bridges is "still running San Francisco's Special Investigation Unit and confronting a changing city, a new boss and a world in which police work focuses on modern data-crunching and predictive policing." The proposed two-hour TV special would serve as a backdoor pilot for an ongoing series. Johnson and Bill Chais are co-writing the project with Marc Rosen also executive producing for Village Roadshow. No other cast members are currently attached. (THR.com)
TITANS (DC Universe) - Production on the series was shut down after Warren Appleby, the show's special effects coordinator, was killed in an accident at a special effects facility. "We are heartbroken and devastated by the passing of our treasured colleague, special effects coordinator Warren Appleby, after an accident which occurred at a special effects facility during the preparation and testing for an upcoming shoot," producer Warner Bros. Television said in a statement. (Deadline.com)
WE ARE WHO WE ARE (HBO, New!) - Chloë Sevigny is attached to star in a new eight-episode series from Luca Guadagnino billed as "a coming of age story about two American teenagers who, along with their military and civilian parents, are living on an American military base in Italy." Jack Dylan Grazer, Alice Braga, Faith Alabi, Spence Moore II, Corey Knight, Tom Mercier and Sebastiano Pigazzi also star in the Wildside-based project, which begins production in Italy later this month. Guadagnino is helming the project from scripts he wrote alongside Paolo Giordano and Francesca Manieri. Also serving as executive producers are Lorenzo Mieli, Mario Gianani, Nick Hall, Sean Conway, Riccardo Neri and Francesco Melzi d'Eril. (Deadline.com)
