CHAIN OF COMMAND (FOX, New!) - April Fitzsimmons and Jamie Lee Curtis have landed a put pilot commitment from the network for a new drama which "revolves around a young Air Force investigator with radical crime-solving methodology who returns to her hometown to join a military task force that doesn't want her, a family who has traumatized her, and must confront the secrets that drove her away." Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Productions will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment while Curtis is not attached to act. (Deadline.com)
CLEANING LADY, THE (FOX, New!) - Miranda Kwok has sold a domestic take on the Argentinian drama to the network, about "a young Filipina doctor who comes to the U.S. for a medical treatment to save her son, but when the system fails and pushes her into hiding, she uses her cunning and intelligence to fight back. After hitting rock bottom, she crosses into a world of moral grey, cleaning crimes scenes for the Russian mob, and eventually forges her own path to power, becoming an unexpected yet formidable player in the criminal underground." Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment will co-produce with Melissa Carter and Amore & Vita Productions' Shay Mitchell also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
FOUNDATION (Apple TV+) - Lee Pace and Jared Harris are the first to be cast in the long-in-the-works 10-episode adaptation of Isaac Asimov's science fiction novel trilogy. Pace plays Brother Day, "the current Emperor of the Galaxy"; while Harris plays Hari Seldon, "a mathematical genius who predicts the demise of the empire." (Deadline.com)
GOOD CHRISTIAN BITCHES (The CW) - The netlet is taking yet another stab at bringing Kim Gatlin's book of the same name to the small screen, this time with Jordon Nardino at the helm. Said effort is set "at a prestigious private Christian high school in Dallas, a war stoking the student body's social divides erupts when the new girl on campus, the atheist daughter of a minister, inadvertently tangles with three popular girls who blame her for ruining their lives." Nardino succeeds Leila Cohan-Miccio, who was behind last year's take; and Robert Harling, who spearheaded the short-lived 2012 series for ABC. Darren Star and Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor remain on board as executive producers for CBS Television Studios and ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
MARRIED WITH ROOMMATES (ABC, New!) - Writer Donald Diego and director Randall Einhorn have booked a single-camera comedy at the Alphabet about "a young couple who stretches and buys a house they can't afford. Now, instead of filling their home with kids, the couple has to fill it with roommates." Einhorn's ABC Studios-based Sad Unicorn banner is behind the project, which has a penalty attached. MAVENHOOD (NBC, New!) - Jordana Lewis Jaffe has sold a potential drama to the Peacock in which "when a mysterious person threatens to reveal the dark, private secrets of a group of social media entrepreneurs, it could shatter the façade of perfection that is the very core of their enviable feeds - and their business model - and ruin the lives of those they love. However, it also bonds the women together and forces them to become true friends to one another." The project, which has a penalty attached, is set up at the Warner Bros. Television-based Brownstone Productions with Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman likewise executive producing and Dannah Shinder as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
RUPAUL'S CELEBRITY DRAG RACE (VH1, New!) - The cable channel has commissioned a four-episode series for 2020 that "will feature 12 sickening celebrities as they sashay into the "werk" room to get gag-worthy makeovers and spill all the tea as they compete for the first-ever title of "America's Next Celebrity Drag Superstar." In each episode, three celebrities will undergo a complete drag transformation with the help of some of the most iconic queens from previous seasons including Alyssa Edwards, Asia O'Hara, Bob the Drag Queen, Kim Chi, Monét X Change, Monique Heart, Nina West, Trinity the Tuck, Trixie Mattel and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo." World of Wonder Productions is behind the project with Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, Steven Corfe, Mandy Salangsang, San Heng and RuPaul Charles serving as executive producers. SQUAD, THE (NBC, New!) - Anthony Del Broccolo has booked a multi-camera comedy at the Peacock about "a new group of friends (and sometimes enemies) who find companionship and common ground in their mutual love of competitive eSports, and explores what it means to finally find "your tribe" after years of feeling like an outsider." Johnny Galecki and Holly Brown of Alcide Bava Productions will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television with Cory Wood producing. (Deadline.com)
TOKYO VICE (HBO Max) - Michael Mann has signed on to helm the debut episode of the upcoming drama. He'll also serve as an executive producer alongside J.T. Rogers, John Lesher, Alan Poul, Emily Gerson Saines and Destin Daniel Cretton as well as stars Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe. (Deadline.com)
TRINKETS (Netflix) - The show's second and final season has tapped recurring roles for Austin Crute as Marquise, "a new friend of Tabitha's (Quintessa Swindell) in yearbook"; Nik Dodani as Chase, "Moe's (Kiana Madeira) intellectual rival who causes unexpected problems for her"; Andrew Jacobs as Ben Traux, "Moe's older brother who is home from military school to try to figure things out"; and Chloë Levine as Jillian, a new friend of Elodie's (Brianna Hildebrand) from band." US & THEM (NBC, New!) - Writers Jim Brandon and Brian Singleton are set to team with director Randall Einhorn for a new single-camera comedy at the Peacock "told in two timelines, exploring the idea that who you were in high school isn't necessarily the same person you are today, and how when it comes to love, timing is everything." Einhorn's ABC Studios-based Sad Unicorn banner is behind the project, which has a penalty attached. (Deadline.com)
