BET+ PREMIERES NEW ORIGINAL DRAMA "DARK MONEY"

The four-part series from Levi David Addai is now streaming exclusively on BET+

NEW YORK, NY - January 15, 2020 --- Tomorrow, BET+ premieres original drama "Dark Money" across all platforms the service is available. The four-part BET+ original tells the fictional story of the Mensahs, an ordinary working-class family from North London whose youngest son, Isaac (Max Fincham), upon returning home from filming a major Hollywood movie, shatters the family's world when he reveals he was abused by a renowned filmmaker while abroad. The show explores the impossible set of decisions and the consequences that follow when Issac's parents, Manny (Babou Ceesay), and Sam Mensah's (Jill Halfpenny) decide to accept a substantial pay-off in return for their silence. A timely and relevant story about the struggle to heal, protect those you love and seek justice in the face of unfathomable trauma; attempting to answer the question "what is the real cost of silence?"

"Dark Money" continues the mission of BET+ to bring rich, multi-faceted stories that span the full spectrum of the Black experience. Set in London, starring an extraordinarily diverse cast, it's story spanning two countries and focused on a blended family; whose members, in their own right are imperfect, but together are redefining the meaning of trust, family and unconditional love. "Dark Money" premieres Thursday, January 16 on BET+.

"Dark Money" was written and executive produced by the Bafta-nominated writer Levi David Addai and directed by Lewis Arnold (Broadchurch, Humans).
