2020 MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL REGULAR SEASON
Network Opens Milestone 25th Season of Coverage Saturday, July 25
Joe Buck and John Smoltz Return for Fifth Consecutive Season as Lead Team
New York - FOX Sports welcomes Major League Baseball home with an on-air roster of familiar faces and new voices, continuing to elevate the network's coverage of the sport. Today's announcement was made by Judy Boyd, Senior Vice President of Remote Production, and Kent Camera, Senior Vice President of Studio Production.
The network's lead broadcast team of Emmy Award-winning announcer Joe Buck and first-ballot Hall of Famer John Smoltz reunite with veteran reporter Ken Rosenthal as the New York Yankees face the reigning World Series champion Washington Nationals on Saturday, July 25 at 7:00 PM ET on FOX. The acclaimed duo of play-by-play announcer Joe Davis and World Series champion A.J. Pierzynski cover all the action from the San Francisco Giants contest with the Los Angeles Dodgers, immediately prior at 4:00 PM ET. Adam Amin, one of sports media's rising stars, makes his debut at 1:00 PM ET with Eric Karros as FOX Sports opens its season with the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs.
Veteran broadcasters Kevin Burkhardt, Aaron Goldsmith and Emmy Award-winning reporter Tom Verducci also contribute to FOX Sports' game coverage throughout the season.
The network provides pre- and postgame studio coverage for select games during the season. On Saturday, July 25 at 12:30 PM ET, Burkhardt anchors the MLB ON FOX PREGAME SHOW with first-ballot Hall of Famer Frank Thomas and World Series champion Dontrelle Willis bringing viewers the league's biggest stories and expert analysis. The rotating cast includes veteran host Chris Myers in addition to a strong panel of analysts comprised of World Series champion Nick Swisher, Thomas, Willis and Karros.
As FOX Sports gears up for the MLB at Field of Dreams presented by GEICO event, on Thursday, August 13 at 7:00 PM ET on FOX, the network sets an all-star team of broadcasters. Buck and Smoltz call the one-of-a-kind matchup as Rosenthal keeps viewers updated with exclusive inside information. A special edition of the network's highly acclaimed pregame show features Burkhardt, Thomas and World Series champion Alex Rodriguez beginning at 6:00 PM ET on FS1 before shifting to FOX at 6:30 PM ET. Additional details around the event will be announced at a later date.
The leader in Spanish-language MLB coverage for over two decades, FOX Deportes' unparalleled roster is led by famed play-by-play announcer Adrian Garcia Marquez and former MLB infielder Edgar Gonzalez. The veteran group of Rolando Nichols, Carlos Alvarez and Jaime Motta round out the network's lineup. Nichols and Motta open the season with Brewers-Cubs at 1:00 PM ET while Garcia Marquez and Alvarez deliver all the action from Giants-Dodgers at 4:00 PM ET.
