BIG SKY (ABC) - Ted Levine and Kyle Schmid have both scored roles on the newcomer. Levine, a new regular, will play Horst Kleinsasser, who "has run the ranch empire for decades with a petty ruthlessness, buying up failing ranches, making deals, expanding his grip on the small, rural Lochsa County." Schmid then will recur as John Wayne Kleinsasser, who "clings to the old ways of the ranch with a ferocity and forcefulness." (Deadline.com)
CITADEL (Amazon) - Ashleigh Cummings will join Priyanka Chopra Jones, Richard Madden and Roland Møller in the global event thriller. No details were given about her character. (Deadline.com)
COCKY (FOX, New!) - Jack Amiel and Michael Begler have set up an animated comedy at the network about Bert, "a rideshare driver with a Ph.D., who is the smartest idiot in the world, and what happens when a guy who lacks any filter whatsoever lives with the most insecure, overly-sensitive talking Cockatoo on the planet." The project is set up at FOX Entertainment and Bento Box Entertainment with Michael Sugar also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
DEXTER LIMITED SERIES (Showtime) - Michael Cyril Creighton is bound for the revival season as Fred Jr., "the congenial owner of Fred's Fish & Game, a shop he inherited from his father. He has grown up in Iron Lake and is a regular fixture around town that everybody knows and loves, whether it's line dancing at the local tavern or singing in the choir. He's married to Brian, the pastor of the small congregational church in town." He'll appear in seven of the 10 planned episodes. (THR.com)
GOOD TROUBLE (Freeform) - Constance Zimmer will recur on the upcoming season as Kathleen Gale, "an intimidating defense attorney who becomes a mentor for Callie, played by Maia Mitchell. She is confident and tough on the outside, but hiding some deeper secrets inside." She'll also direct an episode this season. (Deadline.com)
HARRY POTTER LIVE-ACTION SERIES (HBO Max, New!) - The streaming service has "engaged in multiple conversations with potential writers exploring various ideas that would bring the beloved property to television." No other specifics were given. HBO Max and Warner Bros. however reaffirmed, "There are no Harry Potter series in development at the studio or on the streaming platform." (THR.com)
HUNGRY (NBC, New!) - Demi Lovato is attached to star in a potential single-camera comedy at the network which "follows a group of friends who belong to a food issues group help each other as they look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that's going to make it all better." Suzanne Martin is penning the project, which has a put pilot commitment. Hazy Mills Productions' Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner and SB Projects' Scooter Braun, James Shin and Scott Manson will executive produce alongside Lovato and Martin for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)
I LOVE THIS FOR YOU (Showtime) - Punam Patel and Matt Rogers have both been cast in the comedy pilot: Patel will play Tami, "an offbeat backstage producer," while Rogers will play Darcy, "the ingratiating right-hand man to the CEO of a home-shopping network." (Deadline.com)
IN WITH THE DEVIL (Apple TV+, New!) - Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser are on track to topline a six-part adaptation of James Keene's true crime memoir from writer Dennis Lehane and director Michael R. Roskam: "Keene was a young Chicago kid who was a stand out football player headed for a pro career when a few turns in the wrong direction caught him a decade long prison sentence with no chance of parole. The son of a Chicago cop was offered by the prosecutor who put him behind bars the chance to be sprung from prison and a chance to redeem himself. The stakes were high. Same prosecutor convicted a man named Larry Hall for abducting and killing a 15-year old, just one of perhaps 19 other women he killed. The killer could be released on appeal. Keene's task was to ingratiate himself with the murderer, in prison, and get him to confess to two murders." Apple Studios will produce with Imperative Entertainment's Bradley Thomas and Dan Friedkin; Eden Productions' Richard Plepler (who originally set it up as series at HBO); Emjag Productions' Scott Lambert and Alexandra Milchan; Ryan Friedkin; and Kary Antholis executive producing alongside the aforementioned group (sans Hauser). (Deadline.com)
LAST OF US, THE (HBO) - Craig Mazin has extended his overall deal with HBO and its streaming sibling HBO Max for an additional three years. (Deadline.com)
PRODIGAL SON (FOX) - Alan Cumming is the latest set to recur on the series as Simon Hoxley, "a supremely confident and cocky Europol agent known as "The MindSleuth" (which also happens to be the title of his autobiography). Considered one of the most celebrated criminal profilers in the world, he travels to New York to solve the murder of Nicholas Endicott... which puts Malcolm Bright (Tom Payne) in his crosshairs." (Deadline.com)
REBEL (ABC) - Emmy winner Dan Bucatinsky will recur on the Katey Sagal-drama as Jason Erickson, "an edgy, somewhat bitter university professor who Rebel (Sagal) seeks out to enlist his help." (Deadline.com)
TIMEWASTERS (ABC, New!) - Lauren Ashley Smith is spearheading a domestic take on Daniel Lawrence Taylor's British comedy, about "four Black twentysomething New Yorkers who accidentally end up in the year 1926, despite being deeply unenthusiastic about and deeply unequipped for time travel." CBS Studios is behind the single-camera project with Lawrence Taylor and Big Talk Productions' Kenton Allen and Matthew Justice also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
WINTER IN PARADISE (ABC, New!) - André and Maria Jacquemetton have set up a limited series at the Alphabet based on Elin Hilderbrand's bestelling "Paradise" trilogy, which "tells the story of a husband's secret life and a wife's new beginning. Irene Steele shares her idyllic life in a beautiful Iowa City Victorian house with a husband who loves her to an extreme. But when her husband dies in a perplexing manner, Irene soon learns that her husband has been living a secret life with an entirely separate family on the distant Caribbean island of St. John. As Irene untangles a web of intrigue and deceit, and as she and her sons find themselves drawn into the vibrant island culture, they have to face the truth about their family and their future." Ellen Pompeo and Laura Holstein of Calamity Jane; and Andrew Stearn of Andrew Stearn Productions will executive produce alongside the Jacquemettons and Hilderbrand for ABC Signature. (Deadline.com)
YOU (Netflix) - Scott Michael Foster signed onto the show's third season as Ryan, "a local television reporter. A well-liked single dad who has overcome a history of addiction, Ryan has secrets, including a controlling, calculating demeanor that he reserves for those closest to him and anyone who gets in his way."
