TV ONE ANNOUNCES A NEW TRUE-CRIME SERIES TO SPOTLIGHT HIGH PROFILE CASES IN "SINS OF THE CITY" AIRING THURSDAY, MAY 13 AT 9 P.M. ET/8C
SILVER SPRING, MD - May 12, 2021 - TV One is slated to premiere a new true crime docu-series Sins of The City this Thursday, May 13 at 9 p.m. ET/8C. The season lead-in will discuss the execution of George Floyd and the impact his death had on the city of Minneapolis. Various experts, community leaders, family members, and the like, provide real-life perspective and insight into the cities profiled this season.
In the season premiere, viewers revisit the tragic events surrounding the death of George Floyd. The episode explores the events in Floyd's life leading up to his murder, beginning with his relocating to Minneapolis to find better opportunities after being released from prison in Houston, TX. Floyd, who was described as a loving, supportive, guiding presence and 'gentle giant to his loved ones, lost his life at the hands of Minneapolis Police on May 25th 2020. The result of this action is now known as the spark of injustice heard around the world with tensions within the city reigniting after the conviction of officer Derek Chauvin.
Sins of The City is a close-ended docu-series exposing the underbelly of American cities and highlighting perplexing crimes that will forever alter the fabric of these communities. Through first-hand storytelling, Sins of The City depicts investigators working through the evidence to secure case leads, as narration and interviews capture the history behind each city's woeful tale.
