CHECKER, THE/STEPHANIES, THE (Hulu, New!) - Lila Byock has signed a two-year overall deal with ABC Signature. The pact covers a pair of projects in development at Hulu: "The Checker," "inspired by Byock's own experiences as a magazine journalist"; and "The Stephanies," "based on the short story of the same name by Thomas Pierce." T-Street will also produce the former while FilmNation Entertainment is also behind the latter, which Pierce is writing with Byock supervising. (Variety.com)
CITY ON FIRE (Apple TV+) - Wyatt Oleff is the first to be cast in the streamer's Garth Risk Hallberg adaptation as Charlie, "a friend of Samantha Cicciaro's who is struggling to cope with the death of his father on 9/11 two years earlier. After she is shot, he stops at nothing to unravel the mystery of what happened." In addition, Jesse Peretz has signed on to direct and executive produce the first two episodes of its eight-episode first season. (Deadline.com)
GOLDEN CAGE, THE (Hulu, New!) - Kiernan Shipka is attached to star in a potential drama at the streamer which "explores the lengths one woman (Shipka) will go to camouflage her past, while climbing the dizzying heights of Wall Street." (Deadline.com)
PARTNER TRACK (Netflix) - Desmond Chiam and Tehmina Sunny will both recur on the streamer's Helen Wan adaptation. Chiam will play Zi-Xin "Z" Min, "a handsome idealist with a strong sense of right and wrong. His steadfast commitment to the environment might seem overzealous to some, but to Z, integrity is everything. His priorities bring him head-to-head with Ingrid as her client courts his family's energy company." And Sunny will portray Victoria St. Clair, "a British hotelier, who's as rich as she is glamorous. Sexy, sophisticated, and shrewd, Victoria is one of the law firm's biggest clients and is used to getting what she wants." (Deadline.com)
SEARCH PARTY (HBO Max) - The show's fifth season has tapped Angela Trimbur as Elodie Revlon; Grace Kuhlenschmidt as Pepper Southerland; Greta Titelman as Leonora Hamsdale; Joe Castle Baker as Marty Plushfeld; Larry Owens as Ritchie Thinky; Michelle Badillo as Winnie Miranda; and Aparna Nancherla as Benny Balthazar, "Tunnel Quinn's (Jeff Goldblum) head scientist," all recurring roles. (Deadline.com)
SUPERMAN & LOIS (The CW) - Jenna Dewan will reprise her "Supergirl" role of Lucy Lane during the upcoming season on a recurring basis. (THR.com)
WALKER (The CW) - Co-star Lindsey Morgan is bowing out of the series after two seasons: "After much thoughtful consideration and introspection, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to step away from my role as Micki Ramirez on Walker for personal reasons, and I am eternally grateful to have the support of the producers, CBS Studios and The CW in allowing me to do so," Morgan said in a statement the publication. "The opportunity to play Micki has truly been a blessing as has working alongside the incredible cast and crew of this terrific series. Please know that I will continue to root for my TV family and wish them all the best." (Deadline.com)
