CLASS OF '09 (FX on Hulu) - The Brian Tyree Henry/Kate Mara-led limited series has cast Raúl Castillo as Amos; Jake McDorman as Murphy; Sepideh Moafi as Hour; Brian J. Smith as Lennix; Jon Jon Briones as Gabriel; Brooke Smith as Drew; and Rosalind Eleazar as Vivienne. No other character details were given. Additionally, Sunu Gonera is set to direct and executive produce the first two episodes. (Deadline.com)
LOOT (Apple TV+) - Olivier Martinez will recur on the Maya Rudolph-led comedy series as Jean Pierre, "a handsome, charismatic, romantic billionaire. Jean-Pierre comes from a philanthropic, old money family in France and wants his family's charitable foundation to collaborate with Molly. Although he intends to keep it strictly business, there is an undeniable connection between Jean-Pierre and Molly." (Deadline.com)
QUEENS (ABC) - José Moreno Brooks and Gaius Charles will both drop by the newcomer. The latter will play Thomas, "a recording/sound engineer who's smart and charming. He's got a wealth of experience and is super professional… at first. Eventually, he just might develop a taste for some Butter Pecan - by which we mean he'll become very interested in Nadine Velazquez's Valeria." And the former is set as Rodrigo, "gorgeous, sexy, and the most in-demand music video director currently working." (Deadline.com, TVLine.com)
REASONABLE DOUBT (Hulu) - Tim Jo, McKinley Freeman and Angela Grovey have been cast in the Emayatzy Corinealdi-led drama series. Jo will play Daniel, "described as your dorky next door neighbor who grew up to be hot but couldn't shake being a dork, Daniel is an investigator at Jax's law firm." Freeman then is Lewis, "Jax's husband, the father of their two children, a successful video game designer and a genuinely good guy." And Grovey is Krystal, "Jax's assistant at the law firm; very smart, savvy, opinionated, sharp as a tack, Krystal says what she thinks, which can be brutal at times." (Variety.com)
SANTA INC. (HBO Max) - Leslie Grossman, Gabourey Sidibe, Craig Robinson, Nicholas Braun, Joel Kim Booster and Maria Bamford have joined the Sarah Silverman/Seth Rogen-led animated series, due to launch on December 2. Grossman voices Cookie, "a frazzled and loudmouthed gingerbread woman, who also happens to be a mother and Candy's friend"; Sidibe is Goldie, "an openly bisexual and fervently single reindeer who has been one of Candy's best friends since childhood"; Robinson as Junior, "the leader of the reindeer pack (aka the A-Team) that pulls Santa's sled"; Braun as Devin, "who is a human frat boy from North Pole University who takes an internship at Santa Inc and specifically begins to work with Candy"; Booster as Jingle Jim, "Santa's chief of staff and right-hand man who is considered 'the manipulation machine' and the man who gets his hands dirty, so Santa doesn't have to"; and Bamford in the dual roles of Mrs. Claus ("she is Santa's husband, the First Lady of the North Pole, cheerful and polite") and Big Candy ("Candy's mother who is also an elf"). (Variety.com)
WOMAN IN THE HOUSE, THE (Netflix) - Michael Ealy will star opposite Kristen Bell and Tom Riley in the limited series as Douglas, "Anna's ex-husband. Bookish and pragmatic, he still has love for Anna but their past keeps them from imagining a future together." (Deadline.com)
