|
LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:
Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!
1883 (Paramount+) - Rita Wilson will guest on an upcoming episode as Carolyn, "a storekeeper at Doan's Crossing who helps Margaret (Faith Hill) decompress with some whiskey punch." (Variety.com)
AND JUST LIKE THAT... (HBO Max) - Chris Noth has been cut from the show's season finale after the actor "was accused of sexual assault by multiple women, allegations the actor has denied." Said report adds the "creative team ultimately decided that the minimal footage Noth had shot with Parker on location in Paris was not integral to the scene, which is about Carrie finding closure via the spreading of Big's ashes." (TVLine.com)
BULLSH*T THE GAME SHOW (Netflix, New!) - Howie Mandel has been tapped to host a new game show on the streamer which will "offer contestants a chance to win big money, even when they don't know the correct answer. Throughout the game, players will work their way up a money ladder either by answering questions correctly or by confidently giving incorrect answers - and persuading others that they are accurate. With a lot of money on the line, in this game you don't have to be the smartest person in the room to win, you just have to convince everyone that you are." Christopher Potts and Jonty Nash are behind the project, which is filming in New Mexico for a summer premiere. David Friedman, David Eilenberg and Simon Thomas will also executive produce for ITV America with Alan Carter directing. (Deadline.com)
CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Filming on the series was suspended today "after a number of positive Covid tests, including cases in Zone A." Production is expected to resume next week. (Deadline.com)
GREY'S ANATOMY/ROOKIE, THE/STATION 19 (ABC) - All three Los Angeles-based dramas have "delayed the restart of production as a result of the resurgent pandemic." Said change is expected to only be a few days and won't impact their on-air schedules. (TVLine.com)
MORNING SHOW, THE (Apple TV+) - Co-executive producer Brian Chamberlayne has signed an overall deal with Universal Content Productions where he'll develop new series projects on an exclusive basis. (Deadline.com)
NCIS/NCIS: LOS ANGELES (CBS) - "NCIS" has paused production after "a positive test in Zone A" that is "believed to involve a cast member." It's not clear when filming will resume. As for "NCIS: Los Angeles," the series has opted to delay its return to production until February. The spin-off has enough episodes in the can that the break won't affect its air schedule. (Deadline.com)
WHITE LOTUS, THE (HBO) - Michael Imperioli has signed onto the show's second season as Dominic Di Grasso, "a man traveling with his elderly father and recent college-graduate son." (Deadline.com)
