BLUE, THE (Paramount+, New!) - New Pictures and Viacom International Studios are set to begin production on a seven-part series for the streamer which stars Abigail Lawrie and Rhianne Barreto as Lana and Kitty, "two best friends on the run from the UK police. Together they find refuge on a romantic yacht called The Blue, crewed by a group of enigmatic, beautiful people who sail through South East Asia living a life of endless beaches, ocean and parties. But The Blue harbours dark secrets and when greed and lust drive the crew to make some terrible moral compromises, it leads to the death of one of their own." Writer Kris Mrksa and director Hans Herbots are behind the project, which will film in Thailand later this year. Sean Keenan, Jay Ryan and Jake Macapagal also star. (Deadline.com)
GOD OF WAR (Amazon, New!) - Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions are reportedly in talks with Amazon Studios to bring a live-action TV series based on the hugely popular ancient mythology-themed game to the streaming service. Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby and Rafe Judkins are among the featured auspices. No other specifics were given. (Deadline.com)
GOTHAM KNIGHTS (The CW) - Fallon Smythe and Tyler DiChiara are the first to be cast in the DC Comics series pilot. Smythe stars as Harper Row: "Described as streetwise, acerbic and often underestimated, the blue-haired bisexual is a gifted engineer who can fix anything. But what Harper wants most of all is to repair the broken lives of her and her brother, Cullen, the only person she trusts." And DiChiara plays Cullen Row: "After years of hiding his true self from an abusive parent, the transgender teen is tired of being polite and agreeable. Clever and adept at reading human nature, Cullen is ready to fight his own battles." (Variety.com)
HUNGRY (NBC) - Ariel Winter has signed on to star in the multi-camera comedy pilot, in which friends who belong to a food issues group help each other as they look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that's going to make it all better. She replaces Demi Lovato, who bowed out last week due to scheduling reasons. (Deadline.com, 3/6)
UNTITLED THE BATMAN PROJECT (HBO Max) - The movie franchise's proposed TV series spin-off, set in the Gotham City police department, is being put on hold. Director Matt Reeves confirmed the news to the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, indicating HBO Max did not see eye-to-eye on with his vision for the show. "One thing that we're not doing that I was gonna do - so there's the Gotham police show, which, that one actually is put on hold," Reeves said. "We're not really doing that." (Variety.com)
