15 CANDLES (Peacock, New!) - Tanya Saracho and Gabriela Revilla Lugo have sold a single-camera comedy to the streamer which "follows four young Latinas starting high school as they overcome their feelings of invisibility while exploring what it means to leave childhood behind through the lens of the traditional female coming-of-age rite: the quinceañera." July Moon Productions' Selena Gomez will also executive produce for Saracho's Ojalá Productions and Universal Content Productions. Christine Dávila is a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
BAMMAS (Hulu, New!) - Opeyemi "Opey" Olagbaju and Biniam Bizuneh are set to star in a comedy pilot at the streamer about "a pair of young Ethiopian- and Nigerian-American best friends (Olagbaju, Bizuneh) struggle to overcome their loser reputations in a magical realist version of Washington, D.C." Said duo also penned the half-hour and are executive producing alongside showrunner Danny Chun, director Jonathan Krisel, and Cairo Cowboy's Ramy Youssef for ABC Signature. (Deadline.com)
IMMIGRANT (Hulu) - Juliette Lewis is the latest bound for the limited series as Denise: "Straight-talking, no-nonsense Denise goes from Chippendales groupie to loyal right-hand consigliere to its choreographer, Nick De Noia (Murray Bartlett). She looks after the New York club, as well as the Chippendales national tours, and weathers the increasingly volatile relationship between De Noia and Chippendales founder Steve Banerjee (Kumail Nanjiani)." (Deadline.com)
JOSEP (ABC) - Kimee Balmilero, Tess Paras and Jason Rogel are the latest to board the Jo Koy-led comedy pilot. Balmilero plays Geraldine, "Jo's married sister [who] runs a Filipino restaurant with her husband Seth (who is white but adores Filipino culture), and she's a relentless self-promoter." Paras then is Cheryl, "Jo's newly-divorced ex-wife, the mother of their son, Miles, and a goal oriented attorney"; with Rogel as Will Lee, "a pharmacist with an impish smile and Jo's best friend since high school, Will regards all social occasions as potential mating opportunities." (Deadline.com)
SNATCHED (Showtime, New!) - Jeni Rice-Genzuk Henry has sold an hour-long dramedy to the pay channel about "two women seeking to "enhance" their lives with plastic surgery." The project is part of an overall deal Rice-Genzuk Henry recently signed with BET Studios. (Deadline.com)
SON IN LAW, THE (ABC) - Chris Sullivan has been tapped for the title role on the single-camera comedy pilot, about "a salt-of-the-earth man, Jake (Sullivan), finds himself seeking the approval of his new fiancée Asha's sophisticated parents, even as he is a difficult-to-impress father-in-law to his daughter's longtime boyfriend." Jake is further described as "divorced, with one 21-year-old daughter, never thought he would love again, until Asha came along. The problem is that Jake, a hard-working plumbing contractor, is solidly middle class, while Asha hails from the equivalent of uber-wealthy South Asian royalty. Jake wants to marry Asha, and while he still needs to ask her father for his blessing, the real stumbling block is Asha's loving but controlling mother, who doesn't hide her feelings about Jake being all wrong for her daughter." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ROOKIE SPIN-OFF PROJECT (ABC) - Frankie Faison will round out the cast of the proposed spin-off series as Christopher "Cutty" Clark, "a man whose dreams were shattered when he was falsely imprisoned in the '80s. He worked hard to put his life back together after he was exonerated. Cutty is a proud, no-nonsense man with a subversive sense of humor." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED SCOTT PRENDERGAST PROJECT (CBS) - Madeline Wise and Inga Schlingmann have both been cast in the Geena Davis/Skylar Astin-led drama pilot, which has also added Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro as showrunners and executive producers. Wise will play Allison, "smart and high achieving, she is an ER trauma surgeon and Todd's (Astin) diplomatic sister, eager to keep the peace between Todd and their demanding mother, Joan (Davis)." And Schlingmann portrays Susan, "a "stylish legal bombshell in Clark Kent glasses" who works with Joan. A former girlfriend of Todd's, she clearly has moved on, is engaged and has just bought her first home. When she broke Todd's heart years ago, it was because she ultimately found him to be too much of a child." (Deadline.com)
WINCHESTERS, THE (The CW) - Nida Khurshid and Jojo Fleites are the first to be cast in the prequel series pilot, which has also added Glen Winter as director and executive producer. Khurshid will play Latika Desai: "Fiercely intelligent and braver than she believes, Latika Desai is a young hunter-in-training whose research and problem-solving skills help her face her fears in battling dark forces." And Fleites will portray Carlos Cervantez: "Easygoing and confident, Carlos is a natural when it comes to fighting demons and a boost of positivity for the team as it takes on more serious threats."
