EAST NEW YORK (CBS) - Ruben Santiago Hudson, Richard Kind, Lavel Schley and Olivia Luccardi are all bound for the Amanda Warren-led drama pilot. Hudson will play Marvin Sandeford, "who could have become a boss or a detective, but he never wanted to be anything but a street cop. He's very opinionated and given to quick, intractable judgments, but not without compassion. No one knows as much about East New York as he does." Kind then is Stan Yenko, "a captain who hides his loneliness and insecurity behind a gregarious demeanor and quest for camaraderie with everyone around him." Schley portrays Andre Bentley, "a patrol officer trainee from an upper middle-class background in Westchester. He was never supposed to become a cop, which was half the reason he became one." And Luccardi is Brandy Quinlan, "a patrol officer who had a working class upbringing until she ran away from an abusive home and lived on the street. She's a go-getter and driven to prove herself." (Deadline.com)
MANDALORIAN, THE (Disney+) - Christopher Lloyd has been tapped for a yet-to-be-revealed role on the upcoming third season. (THR.com)
NATIONAL PARKS (ABC) - The Alphabet has commissioned a pilot for a new incarnation of the drama project, which "revolves around the tangled, messy lives of the agents who work for the ISB - an elite law-enforcement unit responsible for solving all serious crimes that occur in our country's 81,000 square miles of protected land." Rashad Raisani penned the new take, succeeding original writers Kevin Costner, Aaron Helbing and Jon Baird and director Anthony Hemingway. A+E Studios' Barry Jossen and Tana Jamieson remain on board to executive produce for 20th Television. (Deadline.com)
TRUE DETECTIVE (HBO) - Issa López is reportedly shepherding a fourth season of the anthology series, tentatively titled "True Detective: Night Country." López will write, direct and executive produce the Anonymous Content-based project alongside Barry Jenkins and his Pastel partners Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak. No plot specifics were given. WALKER: INDEPENDENCE (The CW) - Katie Findlay is the latest addition to the prequel series pilot as Kate, "a burlesque dancer, who is in fact a federal agent, in town to investigate the secret workings of Independence, and she's got her sharply observant eye on the new sheriff in town." (Deadline.com)
