CALCULATED MAN, A (Hulu, New!) - Peter Calloway is spearheading a potential TV take on the upcoming AfterShock Media graphic novel for the streamer, "a math-inspired crime series that follows Jack Beans, an accountant living in witness protection after betraying his former employers, the Pinafore crime family. After three years, Jack decides to reclaim his old life. What follows is a journey full of murder, mayhem and mathematics." Calloway and Lee Kramer will presumably executive produce. Writer Paul Tobin and artist Alberto Albuquerque are behind the comic, due next month. (Deadline.com)
CARE BEARS: UNLOCK THE MAGIC (Cartoon Network/HBO Max) - The Warner Bros. Discovery siblings have commissioned six new 22-minute specials of the series for their Cartoonito preschool block. Additionally, all of the current episodes will continue to be available into early 2027. (Deadline.com)
COMPANY YOU KEEP, THE (ABC) - Sarah Wayne Callies, James Saito, Tim Chiou, Freda Foh Shen and Felisha Terrell are set to join Milo Ventimiglia and Catherine Haena Kim in the drama pilot. Callies will play Birdie, "Charlie's bossy big-sister and co-owner of the bar they run together, which also serves as a front to their illegitimate family business." Saito portrays Joseph, "this former Governor is the patriarch of a political dynasty considered to be the Asian American Kennedys." Chiou is set as David, "he's Joseph's son and extremely close with his younger sister, Emma, who gets to see a side of David that few others do." Shen is Grace, "she's Joseph's wife and Emma and David's mother, can work a room like nobody's business and is the fierce curator and protector of her family's brand." And Terrell plays Daphne, "worldly, ambitious and, when pushed, ruthless." (Deadline.com)
I GOTTA ASK MY WIFE (FOX, New!) - Finesse Mitchell is attached to star in a multi-camera comedy for the network "that follows the friendship between three men, all living in the same apartment building, at different stages in their romantic lives: one in his 20s, single and looking for love, one thirty-something who can't get divorced fast enough, and one happily married, father of two (Mitchell, 40s), who just wants to "chill" (code for: stay out of trouble) at home with his wife." Mitchell and Warren Hutcherson penned the script and will executive produce alongside Authentic Talent & Literary Productions' Rick Dorfman for FOX Entertainment. (Deadline.com)
LADY IN THE LAKE (Apple TV+) - Lupita Nyong'o has exited the Laura Lippman adaptation for unspecified reasons. The series, which is currently in production, will recast her role of Cleo Sherwood, a hard-working woman juggling motherhood, many jobs and a passionate commitment to advancing Baltimore's Black progressive agenda. (Variety.com)
MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, THE (Amazon) - Milo Ventimiglia will reprise his role of "Handsome Man" during the show's upcoming final season. (TVLine.com)
NATIONAL PARKS (2022 VERSION) (ABC) - Yasha Jackson will star opposite Michaela McManus in the drama pilot as Tiffany, "a brassy, funny Park Service Agent, a helicopter pilot and Audrey's (McManus) close friend. Proud to be queer, Tiffany always says exactly what she means and she enjoys taking self-important bureaucrats down a peg or two. She and Audrey's other best friend, Lisa, are fascinated to see how the clash between Audrey's ex Clay and her present fiancé Keldon will turn out." (Deadline.com)
SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE (NBC) - Co-stars Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney and Pete Davidson are expected to depart the series at the end of the season. Said report indicates "there may be a big group goodbye" during tomorrow's season finale. McKinnon has been part of the series for 11 seasons, followed by Bryant with 10, Mooney with nine, and Davidson with eight. (Deadline.com)
