ALERT (FOX) - The Dania Ramirez/Scott Caan-led drama has cast Adeola Role as Kemi, "a confident and generous member of the Missing Persons Unit"; Ryan Broussard as Mike, "Nikki's fellow investigator and lover, having met when he was assigned to oversee the search for Keith"; and Graham Verchere as Keith, "abducted at age 11, long-since presumed dead, Keith resurfaces as a seemingly normal, gangly 17-year-old teenager, happy to be reunited with his family, albeit a tad tentative." John Eisendrath, Jamie Foxx, Datari Turner, J.R. Orci, Adam Kane and Michael Offer are also executive producers for Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment. (Deadline.com)
DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY, THE (Hulu) - Keanu Reeves has bowed out of the streamer's adaptation of Erik Larson's novel. No other details about his exit were given. (Variety.com)
GOOSEBUMPS (Disney+) - Justin Long, Ana Yi Puig, Miles McKenna and Will Price are the first to be cast in the latest R.L. Stine series adaptation. Long will play Nathan Bratt, "the new schoolteacher who develops a terrifying connection to a decades-old supernatural murder"; with Puig as Isabella, described as "smart and naturally shy with an overwhelming sense of responsibility"; McKenna as James, "the class clown who loves the spotlight and hails from one of the wealthiest families in Port Lawrence"; and Price as Jeff, "the rebellious skateboarder who is grappling with the untimely death of his daredevil father." Nick Stoller, Rob Letterman, Kevin Murphy, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Conor Welch, Erin O'Malley, Iole Lucchese and Caitlin Friedman are the executive producers for Original Film, Stoller Global Solutions, Scholastic Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television Studios with Julia Ruchman, James Eagan, and Nick Adams as co-executive producers. PENGUIN, THE (HBO Max) - Craig Zobel has signed up to direct and executive produce the first two episodes of the limited series, a spin-off of the recent "The Batman" featured film starring Colin Farrell. (Variety.com)
