FRASIER (REBOOT SERIES) (Paramount+) - Jack Cutmore-Scott and Nicholas Lyndhurst have been cast opposite Kelsey Grammer in the sequel series. Cutmore-Scott will play Frasier Crane's son Freddy: "Charming and handsome, Frasier's son Freddy (Cutmore-Scott) is a nuanced combination of his father and grandfather. Years ago, Freddy rejected following in his father's footsteps - dropping out of college to become a fireman - and he's never looked back until now, when recent troubles have left him with no one to turn to in his life. If they can overcome past differences, Freddy and Frasier might finally have a chance to repair old wounds." And Lyndhurst will play Alan Cornwall, "Frasier's old college buddy turned university professor. British, boozy and larger than life, Alan has an intellect on par with Frasier's - if only he ever felt like using it. Alan's mischievous streak might be just what Frasier could use to shake up his routine, while Frasier's thoughtful guidance might help Alan find some of the direction he's been missing in his own life." MARY & GEORGE (AMC) - Nicholas Galitzine has been cast opposite Julianne Moore in the eight-part limited series. Moore will play Mary Villiers, Countess of Buckingham, "who in 17th century England molded her beautiful son, George (Galitzine), to seduce King James I and become his all-powerful lover. Through outrageous scheming, the pair rose from humble beginnings to become one of the richest, most titled and influential mother and sons England had ever seen." (Deadline.com)
NANCY DREW (The CW) - Executive producer Lis Rowinski has signed a first-look deal with the show's producer, CBS Studios. (Deadline.com)
SECOND WIFE (Hulu, New!) - Emma Roberts and Tom Ellis are attached to star in a new "darkly comedic half-hour" at the streamer "about the ups and downs of a blended family. Fresh off a terrible breakup, Sasha (Roberts) flees her life in New York to start over in London, where she meets and quickly falls in love with a recently divorced father named Jacob (Ellis). When they impulsively decide to get married, they will soon learn that there's a lot they don't know about each other - and they can't outrun their pasts forever. Darkly comedic in tone, Second Wife is an exploration of intimacy, failure, and second chances." Meaghan Oppenheimer is behind the Belletrist and 20th Television-based project. All three will executive produce. (Deadline.com)
SNOWPIERCER (TNT) - The cable channel will not proceed with the completed fourth and final season of the series, once again due to the larger tax write-offs by parent company Warner Bros. Discovery. "We can confirm that TNT will not air season four of Snowpiercer," a spokesperson for told the publication. "This was a difficult decision, but our admiration for the talented writers, actors and crew who brought Snowpiercer's extraordinary post-apocalyptic world to life remains strong. We have been working collaboratively with the producers since last year to help the series find a new home where fans can continue to enjoy the compelling story and exceptional visual experience. We look forward to working with them on future projects." Tomorrow Studios is currently shopping the new season, "along with potential prequel and sequel, with the goal to build a franchise." UNCOUPLED (Netflix) - The Neil Patrick Harris-led comedy series has been canceled after one season. (Deadline.com)
