TV ONE'S ALL-NEW ORIGINAL FILM "UNDER THE INFLUENCE" STARRING DENYCE BROOKS, BJ BRITT AND JARED WOFFORD TO PREMIERE ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 5 AT 7/6C
SILVER SPRING, Md. - February 2, 2023 - TV One's original film UNDER THE INFLUENCE, directed by Courtney Miller ("Games People Play", "Saints & Sinners", and "Twisted House Sitter"), will premiere on, Sunday, February 5 at 7/6C. Denyce Brooks ("Chicago PD", "Hot Shot: Anthrax" - NatGeo/Disney+, "A Luv's Tale" - BET+) will star as Denae Herndon. Joining Brooks is BJ Brit ("Being Mary Jane", "Agents of the SHIELD") who is cast as Seth Blackman. Jared Wofford ("The Winchesters" - CW, "Rap Sh!t", "Saints and Sinners") rounds out the cast as Robert.

The film title, UNDER THE INFLUENCE stems from the colloquial term "13th step". This term applies when a 12-step old-timer hits on a newcomer with less than a year of sobriety. It can be for a variety of reasons: emotional, financial, or physical. But either way, it's someone in a position of power trying totake advantage of someone weaker. In this film, a woman's life is thrown into a dangerous tailspin after ending an affair with the dangerous lover she met in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).
