10% HAPPIER (FOX, New!) - Ken Jeong is set to topline a proposed single-camera comedy at the network which "centers on a family man and mid-level juice company executive who finds himself in a major life rut. After a panic attack at work, he has an epiphany where he realizes he needs to change everything about the way he lives in order to become... "10% Happier."" Michael Lisbe and Nate Reger are behind the project, which has a script-to-series commitment and is based on Dan Harris's book and podcast. Jeong, Harris, Brett Carducci, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang will also executive produce for The Tannenbaum Company, Lionsgate Television and FOX Entertainment. (Variety.com)
1266 (Hulu) - The Gabourey Sidibe-led comedy pilot has cast Karim Diané as Posh, "who is everyone's favorite, even if they are constantly trying to figure out if he's straight or gay"; Kristin Dodson as Jimmy, "the youngest of the phone sex workers at Imagine Inc."; and Kassandra Lee Diaz as Fi, "an Afro-Latina queer 20-something, who doesn't suffer fools and loves lavishing designer threads on her girlfriends." Additionally, Anna Maria Horsford, Tisha Campbell and Judy Reyes will recur in yet-to-be-revealed roles. (Deadline.com)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Sam Page is slated to recur on the series as Sam Sutton, "an Air Force pilot who is seriously injured in a base-jumping accident. Although he's coping with trauma, he somehow maintains his sense of humor and charm." (Variety.com)
HELLICIOUS (TBS, New!) - Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis is attached to star in a potential animated series at the cable channel inspired by the comic book series created by Mina Elwell, Alan C. Medina, Kit Wallis, and Simon Oré. The show "follows Cherry, the Devil's precocious 7-year-old granddaughter, who steals the Heaven-bound soul of rock-goth icon Briggy Bundy (Kiedis). The unlikely duo stumble upon forgotten realms of the afterlife while evading Cherry's mother and an agent from heaven sent to reclaim Briggy's soul." Carly Craig is penning the script and will executive produce alongside Kiedis, Oré, Bob Forrest, Ron Burkle, Barry Josephson and D. Matt Geller for Said and Done Entertainment and Josephson Entertainment. Christian Bersani and Patrick Munroe are co-producers. (Variety.com)
JUMP START (CBS) - Ryan Michelle Bathé has been cast opposite Terry Crews in the multi-camera comedy pilot as Marcy, "a hard-working nurse who is naturally maternal and wise beyond her years. She and Joe share a close bond and are supportive of one another even when they don't agree. The two have a good life in their middle-class Philly neighborhood with their two teen kids - meeting all challenges, and enjoying their share of goofy times as well." (Variety.com)
SEASONED (Showtime) - The Kathryn Grody/Mandy Patinkin-led comedy pilot has received a six-episode series order from the network. (Deadline.com)
ST. DENIS MEDICAL (NBC) - Josh Lawson, Kahyun Kim and Mekki Leeper are the latest additions to the comedy pilot. Lawson plays Bruce, "a trauma surgeon working primarily in the Emergency Department"; while Kim plays Serena, "an Emergency Department nurse who leans toward homeopathy and is Alex's work wife"; and Leeper is Matt, "a well-meaning Emergency Department nurse whom we meet on his first day as a Registered Nurse." THIS MUST BE THE PLACE (Amazon, New!) - Orlando Bloom has signed on to star in a small screen take on Maggie O'Farrell's novel at Amazon Studios, which "crisscrosses time and continents to reveal the redemptive power of love and how the choices of our past have unexpected consequences in our present, as an American linguist and a reclusive Anglo-French actress find their marriage threatened by their earlier lives." Suzanne Heathcote is behind the project, with Bloom, Adam Karasick, Angie Stephenson, Juliette Howell and Tessa Ross also executive producing for Amazing Owl Productions, BBC Studios and House Productions. VANDERBILT (Amazon, New!) - A series based on Anderson Cooper and Katherine Howe's book "Vanderbilt: The Rise and Fall of an American Dynasty" has landed at Amazon Studios. Cooper and Patrick Macmanus are penning the project, "which chronicles four hundred years of the rise and fall of one of America's most powerful dynasties."
