GALAXY QUEST (Paramount+) - The streaming service is the latest to take a stab at bringing the cult 1999 sci-fi comedy movie to the small screen. Mark Johnson of Gran Via Productions is executive producing for Paramount Television Studios. The search is underway for a writer. Paul Scheer, Simon Pegg and Georgia Pritchett were behind previous incarnations set up at Amazon in 2015. (Deadline.com)
HOW TO BE A BOOKIE (HBO Max) - Charlie Sheen will recur on the upcoming comedy in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (Deadline.com)
HYSTERIA! (Peacock) - Anna Camp, Emjay Anthony, Chiara Aurelia, Kezii Curtis and Nikki Hahn will join Julie Bowen in the coming-of-age thriller. Camp stars as Tracy Whitehead, "a crusading Midwestern mother who has been the laughingstock of her community for years due to her extreme religious beliefs, but after a string of occult crimes and disturbances, she becomes a dangerous and unlikely leader of her small town." Dylan Campbell (Anthony), Jordy (Aurelia) and Spud (Curtis) are "a trio of outcasts who use their town's Satanic Panic to their advantage by rebranding their heavy metal band Dethkrunch into a Satanic metal group, only to find themselves caught in the middle of a witch hunt." And Faith (Hahn) is "a sheltered teenage girl whose life is forever changed by a shocking, traumatic crime." (Deadline.com)
LODI (Amazon, New!) - Ewan McGregor is attached to star in a proposed drama at Amazon Studios: "In 1977, a car salesman, Lou (McGregor), goes from ordinary small-town citizen to FBI informant infiltrating the mafia when a key member of organized crime offers to buy his Cadillac dealership. Over the next three years, Lou finds his quest for glory tested when he becomes embroiled in the inner workings of the crime family - from fronting a multimillion-dollar operation, to becoming a surrogate son - before procuring the first-ever conviction of an infamous crime boss." Timothy Greenberg is behind the project with McGregor, Allie Goss and Jon Liebman also executive producing for Entertainment One and Brillstein Creative Partners as well as Kaleb Tuttle co-executive producing. PERFECT MATCH (Netflix) - The streamer has commissioned a second season of the reality dating series. (Deadline.com)
SHARDS, THE (HBO, New!) - The pay channel is developing a TV series based on Bret Easton Ellis's podcast and novel about "a group of privileged Los Angeles high school friends as a serial killer strikes across the city, set in 1981." Ellis himself will write and executive produce alongside Nick Hall and Brian Young. (Deadline.com)
