VERY SCARY PEOPLE, hosted and executive produced by Donnie Wahlberg, returns for a new season on its new home Investigation Discovery, the leading true crime network. · Both parts of "The Happy Face Killer" Premieres Sunday, May 21 starting at 9/8c

When 23-year-old Taunja Bennett left home on January 21, 1990, her family thought they would see her in a few hours. That didn't happen. Then her sister watches a news report with a police sketch of a woman found dead in the Columbia River Gorge...and knew it was Taunja. That was the start of multiple female bodies found mostly in the Pacific Northwest and California which police never connect to each other. Then someone starts sending macabre letters signed with a happy face, which was the beginning of the end of the Happy Face Killer's reign of terror.

Every day, countless minors are exploited, groomed and abused in person and online. Enter Roo Powell and her team at the nonprofit SOSA (Safe from Online Sex Abuse), who work in tandem with law enforcement to apprehend child predators by becoming the targets. As the team deploys three new underage decoys and launches the fictitious online accounts for a 15, 14 and even a 12-year-old persona, it's a race against the clock to identify the ACMs (adults contacting minors) and build a case against the alleged predators to enable law enforcement to make an arrest before the perpetrators can victimize other children.

Roo and the team catch a break while trying to identify "The Handyman." Meanwhile, a new decoy is launched and catches the interest of a promoter of sex parties involving underage girls.

A new ACM with an extremely concerning occupation begins a relationship with 14-year-old decoy Mackenzie. A man in another state reaches out to Abby looking to meet up with her and her friends.
