It's midsummer. It's the longest day of the year. It's a party. There is romance in the air. But it's also the day that Carina and Johannes after 30 years of marriage choose to tell their family and friends a big secret that has unforeseen consequences.

Midsummer Night is a warm, emotional and funny story that explores themes that everyone can identify with, or relate to. Per-Olav Sørensen, creator and director, says: "It is wonderful to be able to immerse yourself in all the relationships that a large family can provide, and not the least in all the secrets we can carry, as well as all the parallel lives we are capable of living and hiding to people who are very close to us. At this midsummer party there is room for those large feelings, those big revelations and those deep conversations, when nothing goes as planned."

Midsummer Night is created and directed by Per-Olav Sørensen (Home for Christmas, The Playlist, Quicksand), who also serves as the script writer together with Sofie Forsman (Barracuda Queens, Young Royals), Tove Forsman (Barracuda Queens, Young Royals) and Anna Fredrikke Bjerke (Gemini).

The cast includes Pernilla August, Dennis Storhøi, Amalia Holm, Sofia Tjelta, Linn Skåber, Kim Falck, Christopher Wollter, Fanny Klefelt, Peiman Azizpour, Maria Agwumaro, Eirik Hallert, Liv Osa and Kadir Talabani.

Midsummer Night is produced by Magnus Ramsdalen and Janne Hjeltnes for The Global Ensemble Drama.

The key creative team consists of Ulf Brantås (Director of Photography), Kristine Wilhelmsen (Production Designer), Oddfrid Ropstad (Costume Designer) and Nina Elise Johansen (Make-up designer).

Midsummer Night will be shot in Oslo this summer and released globally on Netflix in 2024.
