ALL AMERICAN: HOMECOMING (The CW) - Martin Bobb-Semple's Orlando "Lando" Johnson has been promoted to regular for the show's upcoming third season, due this summer. (Deadline.com, 2/14; Deadline.com, 2/15)
AMERICAN IDOL (ABC) - Katy Perry took to social media to confirm she'll be exiting the reality competition after seven seasons. (@katyperry, 2/12)
BEWITCHED (New!) - Judalina Neira is spearheading a reboot of the classic TV series, billed as "an irreverent hourlong reimagination," as part of an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television. She'll executive produce alongside Doug Robinson and Lauren Moffat of the studio-based Doug Robinson Productions. (Deadline.com, 2/14)
BODY THAT WORKS, A (Netflix, New!) - The streamer has acquired the Israeli drama from Keshet International. It stars Rotem Sela and Yehuda Levi as "a childless couple who enlist the help of a surrogate (Gal Malka)." Lior Raz also features in the project. (Deadline.com, 2/15)
CONNERS, THE (ABC) - Debmar-Mercury has cleared the Werner Entertainment-produced comedy's off-network run on stations covering 85% of the country for a fall launch. (Deadline.com, 2/14)
COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES, A (Hulu) - The streamer has reportedly nixed its proposed adaptation of Sarah J. Maas's bestselling book series. Producer 20th Television then is said to be shopping the project to other outlets. (TVLine.com, 2/12)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Jessica Capshaw's Arizona Robbins and Alex Landi's Nico Kim will both make return trips to the series during its upcoming season while Ellen Pompeo's Meredith Grey will appear in at least four episodes. Additionally, Natalie Morales will guest as Monica Beltran, "a pediatric surgeon whose pragmatism and level-headedness have made her one of the best in her field"; with Freddy Miyares recurring as Dorian, "an intelligent, warm and likable patient who is involved in a serious accident and is struggling with his future." GROSSE POINTE GARDEN SOCIETY (NBC) - The long-in-the-works drama - about "four members of a suburban garden club, all from different walks of life, who get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom" - has been ordered to pilot by the network. Jenna Bans, Bill Krebs and Casey Kyber are the executive producers for Universal Television and Minnesota Logging Company. (Deadline.com, 2/14)
HANDMAID'S TALE, THE (Hulu) - Production on the upcoming sixth and final season is set to begin production this summer for premiere in 2025. (Deadline.com, 2/13)
HUNTING PARTY, THE (NBC) - The drama - about "a small team of investigators who are assembled to track down and capture the most dangerous killers our country has ever seen, all of whom have just escaped from a top-secret prison that's not supposed to exist" - remains under consideration by the network. J.J. Bailey and Jake Coburn are the executive producers for Universal Television. (Deadline.com, 2/14)
JUST CAUSE (Amazon) - Emmy winner and Oscar nominee Cord Jefferson has been tapped to pen the upcoming Scarlett Johansson limited series, based on John Katzenbach's novel of the same name. John Wells and Erin Jontow of John Wells Productions have likewise signed onto the project as an executive producers. They'll join Johansson, Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn from These Pictures. Jefferson presumably is taking over from the originally announced Christy Hall. (Variety.com, 2/13)
LAST FRONTIER, THE (Apple TV+) - Simone Kessell, Dallas Goldtooth and Tait Blum have all been cast in the Jason Clarke-led drama series as Sarah, "Frank's wife"; Hutch, "the second in command US Marshall in a small Alaskan outpost"; and Luke, "Frank (Clarke) and Sarah's son," respectively. LONG BRIGHT RIVER (Peacock) - Nicholas Pinnock is set to star opposite Amanda Seyfried in the limited series, which tells the story of Mickey (Amanda Seyfried), a police officer who patrols a Philadelphia neighborhood hard-hit by the opioid crisis. He'll play Truman Dawes. (Deadline.com, 2/15)
LOPEZ VS. LOPEZ (NBC) - Jaime Camil is slated to recur on the new season as Josué Consuelos, "a charming personal injury attorney whose face is on billboards all over Los Angeles. Josué sweeps Rosie (Selenis Leyva) off her feet with romantic baladas he plays for her on his Spanish guitar, leaving George (George Lopez) seething with jealousy." (Deadline.com, 2/16)
NEIGHBORHOOD, THE (CBS) - Tony Gonzalez will guest on an upcoming episode as Derrick, "a former pro-football player who helped Dave (Max Greenfield) with a previous injury. Calvin is eager to impress Derrick, but when Derrick comes to give Calvin PT at home, it's much more painful than Calvin anticipated. Derrick needs Dave's help to inspire Calvin through his painful healing process." (Variety.com, 2/14)
NIGHT AGENT, THE (Netflix) - Michael Malarkey, Keon Alexander, Navid Negahban and Rob Heaps are all bound for the series' second season. Malarkey joins the cast as Markus, "a military chief and loyal nephew to a dictator newly convicted of war crimes by the Hague"; with Alexander as Javad, "who oversees security for the Iranian Mission to the United Nations and monitors the loyalty of its employees." Recurring are Negahban as Abbas, "the venerable U.N. ambassador for Iran"; and Heaps as Tomas, "the elitist son of the aforementioned deposed dictator, who is keen on restoring his family to power." NIGHT COURT (NBC) - Brent Spiner and Annie O'Donnell will reprise their roles as hard-luck couple Bob and June Wheeler on the sequel series with Kate Micucci as their daughter, who's now all grown up. (TVLine.com, 2/13)
ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING (Hulu) - Meryl Streep will reprise her role of Loretta Durkin for the show's fourth season while Molly Shannon has signed on as "a high powered LA business woman who finds herself drawn into the world of the investigation in NY." (Deadline.com, 2/14; Deadline.com, 2/15)
SENSITIVE KIND, THE (FX, New!) - Ethan Hawke is attached to star and executive produce a drama pilot from the network billed as "a Tulsa noir about a guy (Hawke) who knows too much." Writer/director Sterlin Harjo is behind the project with Garrett Basch likewise executive producing for FX Productions. (Deadline.com, 2/13)
SUPERMAN & LOIS (The CW) - The show's final season is now begin targeted for a fall premiere. (Deadline.com, 2/15)
TACOMA FD (truTV) - The firehouse comedy has been canceled after four seasons. (TVLine.com, 2/13)
TELL ME LIES (Hulu) - Thomas Doherty is bound for the show's second season as Leo, "a junior at Baird who returns to campus after studying abroad for a year and finds himself immediately drawn to Lucy (Grace Van Patten). He seems as kind as he is charming, but Lucy isn't sure whether she can fully trust him. Leo will eventually become entangled in the web created by Lucy and Stephen's (Jackson White) toxic relationship." (Deadline.com, 2/14)
THIS FOOL (Hulu) - The Chris Estrada-led comedy series has been canceled after two seasons. (THR.com, 2/14)
WICKED CITY (ALLBLK) - The supernatural drama will return for a third season, production of which is set to begin in March. (Deadline.com, 2/15)
WILD CARDS (The CW) - The netlet is discussing a second season of the Canadian series. "We have not renewed it yet but that is a conversation that's happening right now. It's the type of show that could run for ten seasons, those shows don't exist much anymore. It really could be something," The CW President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz told reporters at the TCA Winter Press Tour. (Deadline.com, 2/15)
WORLD ON FIRE (PBS) - Executive producer Susanne Simpson has confirmed the series will not return for a third season. (TVLine.com, 2/12)
