Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O'Neill and Sule Rimi also join the cast

Sky and Peacock today announce additional casting for upcoming original series The Day of the Jackal.

This contemporary reimagining of the iconic thriller stars previously announced Academy, Tony and BAFTA award-winner Eddie Redmayne (Broadway's upcoming CABARET Revival,The Good Nurse, Trial of The Chicago Seven, The Theory of Everything) as The Jackal, an unrivalled and highly elusive lone assassin, and Lashana Lynch (Bob Marley: One Love, The Woman King, No Time To Die) as Bianca, a tenacious MI6 agent in a relentless, global pursuit to catch him.

Revealed to join Redmayne and Lynch is Úrsula Corberó, star of global hit series La Casa De Papel (Money Heist), who will play Nuria, someone at the heart of The Jackal's personal life, entirely unaware of who he truly is. Other stellar cast announced today include Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, The King's Man) featuring in the role of Timothy Winthrop, Richard Dormer (Blue Lights, Fortitude, Game of Thrones) as Norman, Chukwudi Iwuji (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, The Split) as Osita Halcrow, Lia Williams (The Capture, The Crown) as Isabel Kirby, Khalid Abdalla (The Crown, The Kite Runner) as Ulle Dag Charles, Eleanor Matsuura (The Walking Dead, I Used To Be Famous) as Zina Jansone, Jonjo O'Neill (Andor, Bad Sisters) as Edward Carver, and Sule Rimi (Classified, Andor) as Paul Pullman.

The 10-part adaptation is based on the seminal novel by Frederick Forsyth and subsequent award-winning 1973 film from Universal Pictures. The series is produced by Downton Abbey and The Last Kingdom producers Carnival Films, part of Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group, and was commissioned by Sky Studios and Peacock.

The series is written and adapted by Ronan Bennett, creator and writer of the critically acclaimed Top Boy. Internationally award-winning Director Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones, Luther, Boardwalk Empire) is the lead director.

Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant are Executive Producers for Carnival Films. Redmayne is also an Executive Producer, and Lynch a Co-Executive Producer on the project. Sam Hoyle is the Executive Producer for Sky Studios. Sue Naegle serves as Executive Producer and Marianne Buckland as Co-Executive Producer. Christopher Hall is Producer and Emily Shapland is Co-Producer. Frederick Forsyth is Consulting Producer.

The series will launch in 2024 on Peacock in the US and on Sky in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

The series is just one of a raft of new original and exclusive titles coming UP NEXT on Sky in 2024. Powerful stories centred around incredible characters that get the nation talking; you won't want to miss this incredible line up on Sky this year.

The Day of the Jackal is the latest project to showcase the collective strength of the Comcast Group, bringing together the creative power of Universal Studio Group, Sky Studios and the global reach of Sky and Peacock with owned IP from Universal Pictures. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution will handle international sales of the series.
