9-1-1 (ABC) - Malcolm-Jamal Warner will appear in four upcoming episodes of the series as Amir, "a nurse in a hospital burn unit who is connected to Bobby's past." (Deadline.com, 4/9)
AMERICAS, THE (NBC) - The long-in-the-works wildlife series "will launch next year." (Deadline.com, 4/9)
CHICAGO MED (NBC) - Diane Frolov and Andy Schneider will step down as co-showrunners of the series at the end of the current season. (Deadline.com, 4/9)
COLD CASE (CBS) - The network is in negotiations with Warner Bros. Television for a revival of the 2003-2010 series: "Set 15 years after the original series' final episode, the untitled Cold Case reboot would follow a new team of tenacious detectives who investigate cold cases across the Southwest." Original creator Meredith Stiehm is spearheading the reboot with Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed also executive producing for Jerry Bruckheimer Television. None of the original cast members are attached however Danny Pino "has had informal conversations to reprise his fan favorite character Det. Scotty Valens, possibly in a significant way"; while Kathryn Morris "has not been approached about the reboot but is aware of it and could potentially appear in some (likely limited) capacity to provide additional continuity." CROW GIRL, THE (Paramount+) - Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash has boarded the series as an executive producer where he'll contribute to the soundtrack for the show. (Deadline.com, 4/12)
DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN (Disney+) - Ayelet Zurer will reprise her "Marvel's Daredevil" role of Vanessa Fisk in the revival series. The news comes despite reports said role had been recast with Ayelet Zurer. (TVLine.com, 4/8)
DR. ODYSSEY/FALLOUT/GROTESQUERIE/NCIS: ORIGINS/PITT, THE (Various) - The five aforementioned series at set to receive significant tax credits from California to film in the state. The news all but assures a second season of "Fallout" which recently launched its freshman run. (Deadline.com, 4/8)
FIVE-STAR WEEKEND, THE (Peacock, New!) - Elon Hilderbrand's novel is being developed for TV by the streaming service. Bekah Brunstetter is penning the project, which "follows a popular food blogger, who, after a tragedy, brings friends from distinct times in her life to spend a weekend in Nantucket." Sue Naegle and Ali Krug are also on board to executive produce via their new established Dinner Party Productions, which has signed an overall deal with producer Universal Content Productions. Hilderbrand will also receive an executive producer credit. (Deadline.com, 4/9)
GAME OF THRONES JON SNOW PROJECT (HBO) - A Kit Harington-led sequel series is no longer in development at the pay channel. (Deadline.com, 4/9)
GOVERNMENT CHEESE (Apple TV+) - Bokeem Woodbine, Adam Beach and Sunita Mani have all been cast in the David Oyelowo-led series in unspecified roles. Simone Missick also stars. (Deadline.com, 4/12)
GROSSE POINTE GARDEN SOCIETY (NBC) - Melissa Fumero, AnnaSophia Robb, Ben Rappaport, Matthew Davis and Alexander Hodge are set to star in the drama pilot. Fumero plays Birdie: "Entitled, rich, swathed in Chanel, a smoker, a drinker, self-destructive at times, toxic at others, but not without real pain beneath her facade, Birdie is a successful author whose memoir, "Digging for Gold: Dancing Through Divorce," is a bestseller." Robb plays Alice, "your favorite high school English teacher, a dreamer whose best dreams are crashing down on her. She's a longtime member of the Grosse Pointe Garden Society." Rappaport plays Brett: "Cool in a threadbare kind of way, Brett put his own dreams of starting a car restoration business on hold so his wife (now ex-wife) could finish law school. He continues his job as a manager of a garden store so he can take care of the kids." Davis plays Joel, "a police officer, Misty's husband and the father of their adopted son, Tom, whom Birdie (Fumero) takes an interest in. Burned out by his job and life in this suburban town, he just needs the slightest push to embrace a dark side of his own." And Hodge plays Doug, "Alice's (Robb) husband. He once had dreams of being a wildly successful artist, but like Alice, his dreams have dwindled over the years, and now fills his time by painting signs for local restaurants." (Deadline.com, 4/12)
HEELS (Starz) - Netflix has licensed the non-exclusive rights to the wrestling drama from Lionsgate Worldwide Television Distribution. No launch date was given. (Variety.com, 4/9)
HEROES: ECLIPSED (New!) - Tim Kring is looking to revive his superhero franchise with a new incarnation "set years after the events of the original series as new evos are being awakened and discovering powers that will change their lives. Featuring familiar villains and new enemies who once again will be attempting to suppress this next step in human evolution, it will be up to this new group of heroes to save the world." Mosaic's Jordan Cerf will also executive produce for Universal Television. The project is being pitched to buyers now. (Deadline.com, 4/10)
HIJACKING OF FLIGHT 601, THE (Netflix) - Writer/directors Camilo Prince and Pablo González have signed a deal to "produce further shows and films out of Colombia" for the streaming service. (Deadline.com, 4/10)
JENNIFER HUDSON SHOW, THE (Syndication) - Mary Connelly will step down as executive producer and co-showrunner of the series at the end of its current second season. Andy Lassner and Corey Palent will continue in said roles going forward. (Deadline.com, 4/11)
LIFE AND MURDER OF NICOLE BROWN SIMPSON, THE (Lifetime, New!) - The cable channel has commissioned a two-night event about Nicole Brown Simpson, "who was famously found murdered in 1994 outside her Brentwood condominium, along with her friend Ronald Goldman, and whose late ex-husband, O.J. Simpson, was accused and ultimately acquitted of the murder charges." No auspices were given about the project, due in June, which is timed with the 30-year anniversary of her death. MELROSE PLACE (REBOOT SERIES) (New!) - Heather Locklear, Laura Leighton and Daphne Zuniga are attached to star in a proposed followup to the 1990s staple which "picks up years after the original series and would provide an update on the beloved characters, one of whom may no longer be with us." Lauren Gussis is spearheading the project, which is currently being shopped to networks and streamers, for CBS Studios. Tiffany Grant and Jason Weinberg will executive produce alongside Gussis, Leighton and Zuniga. (Deadline.com, 4/10)
MS. PAT SETTLES IT (BET) - The Patricia Williams-led courtroom series has been renewed for a second season. (Deadline.com, 4/11)
MURDER IN A SMALL TOWN (FOX) - Paula Patton will guest on the upcoming drama as Elizabeth Lewis, "a brilliant and successful psychiatrist who arrives at the Gibsons Police Station offering insights that can help Karl Alberg (Rossif Sutherland) apprehend a dangerous fugitive murderer (one of Lewis' former patients) who is believed to be hiding in the area." ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING (Hulu) - Richard Kind, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Catherine Cohen and Jin Ha are the latest to recur on the series in unspecified roles. (Deadline.com, 4/9)
PARADISE CITY (Hulu) - Aliyah Mastin and Percy Daggs IV have been cast as the children to Sterling K. Brown's character in the upcoming drama. No other details were given. (Deadline.com, 4/8)
RESCUE: HI-SURF (FOX) - The network has ordered seven additional episodes of the Hawaii-set lifeguard drama, bringing its first season total to 19 installments. (Deadline.com, 4/12)
SEX LIVES OF COLLEGE GIRLS, THE (Max) - Mia Rodgers is the latest addition to the new season as Taylor, "a first-year international student studying at Essex College." (Deadline.com, 4/12)
SHIFTING GEARS (ABC) - Kat Dennings will star opposite Tim Allen in the multi-camera comedy pilot as Riley, who "butted heads with her father growing up and left to marry the boyfriend he hated. Now divorced, Riley's forced to move back home with two kids, hoping she and her dad can make it work this time." She'll also serve as a producer on the project. (Deadline.com, 4/9)
STATION 19 (ABC) - Johnny Sibilly will recur on the final season as Dominic, "a recently single, charming, charismatic EMS firefighter whose calming nature puts people in crisis at ease." (Deadline.com, 4/9)
UNTITLED ARCHEWELL PRODUCTIONS PROJECTS (Netflix, New!) - Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry's Archewell Productions is moving forward with two new projects at the streamer. The first series "will see The Duchess, otherwise known as Meghan Markle, celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship." The second series "follows the world of professional polo." The Intellectual Property Corporation is also behind the former with Leah Hariton, Chanel Pysnik and Eli Holzman executive producing plus Michael Steed directing. And Boardwalk Pictures is co-producing the latter with Miloš Balać, Chanel Pysnik, Andrew Fried, Sarina Roma, Dane Lillegard and Ian Samplin executive producing. (Deadline.com, 4/11)
