Mandy Patinkin, Steve Howey and André De Shields have been cast as guest stars in NBC's new drama series "Brilliant Minds," which premieres on Monday, Sept. 23 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Mandy Patinkin will play an esteemed doctor who joins the staff of Bronx General Hospital, shaking up the dynamic of our doctors. Bringing his own unconventional methods to the workplace, his affinity for house calls and long-standing patient relationships wins the respect of our lead, Dr. Wolf, and fosters a mentor-like relationship between the two men.
Steve Howey will play a rugged motorcycle mechanic who comes to Dr. Wolf with signs of memory loss and an accidental gunshot wound. As the severity of his condition is uncovered, he is forced to make a heartbreaking decision. A decision that will forever change his life and the lives of his loved ones.
André De Shields plays an Alzheimer's patient in an end-of-life care facility. His disease is in its advanced stages, but Dr. Wolf is determined to help him reconnect with his family.

Mandy Patinkin has recently starred in DEATH AND OTHER DETAILS for ABC Signature and Hulu. He was nominated several times for the award-winning Showtime Original Series HOMELAND as 'CIA Agent Saul Berenson.' In television, Mandy won an Emmy Award, as well as a Golden Globe, for his performance in the CBS series CHICAGO HOPE. He starred in the CBS series CRIMINAL MINDS as well as in the Showtime Original Series DEAD LIKE ME. Patinkin, a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, has been fortunate to carve out a varied career including theater, the concert stage, film, television, and as a recording artist. His career started triumphantly with his Broadway debut as the role of 'Che' in Andrew Lloyd Webber's EVITA. The role won him his first Tony Award, which was followed by another nomination in 1984 for the play SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE. In 1989, he began his concert career at Joseph Papp's Public Theater in New York City. Since then he has toured, and continue to tour, across the globe, while also collaborating with other artists. His feature film career has allowed him to act in films such as WONDER, LIFE ITSELF, WISH I WAS HERE, YENTL, DANIEL, RAGTIME, DICK TRACY, THE PRINCESS BRIDE, and many more.
Steve Howey
Steve Howey most recently starred as Harry in the CBS pilot TRUE LIES, coming off the final season on the award-winning Showtime series SHAMELESS alongside William H Macy. His numerous television credits include DEAD TO ME opposite Christina Applegate, a recurring role on SEAL TEAM, SONS OF ANARCHY, JENNIFER FALLS, NEW GIRL, PSYCH and REBA, which was the first series regular role of his career.
Howey's film credits include the Netflix feature DAY SHIFT, opposite Jamie Foxx, the lead role in MAKING BABIES, STUBER, opposite Kumail Nanjiani, Netflix's GAME OVER, MAN! alongside Adam Devine, Anders Holm and Blake Anderson, Warner Bros' SOMETHING BORROWED with Kate Hudson and John Krasinski, and 20th Century Fox's BRIDE WARS with Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway.
