LOS ANGELES, CA (August 15, 2024) - Inspired by gripping and real stories, Lifetime greenlights Buried Alive and Survived starring Eva Marcille (The Real Housewives of Atlanta, All the Queen's Men) and Tyler Lepley (P-Valley, Harlem). Set to premiere on Saturday, September 21 at 8p/7c, the movie follows a woman, who miraculously survives being buried alive by her ex-husband. The movie joins Lifetime's fall slate of Ripped from the Headlines movies.
Buried Alive and Survived follows Alicia (Marcille) who finds herself facing a terrifying ordeal after her ex-husband, Victor (Lepley) is released from prison. Determined to protect herself and their son Malcolm, Alicia resists Victor's demands to reconcile and reunite as a family. But in a twisted turn of events, Victor traps Alicia underground and buries her... alive! Surrounded by darkness and dirt, Alicia pushes down the panic and fear of suffocating and manages to claw her way of out of her grave. Now freed, she searches desperately for her son, knowing his safety hinges on staying one step ahead of Victor's obsession.
Buried Alive and Survived is produced for Lifetime by Swirl Films. Abbey Sibucao, Ron Robinson, and Eric Tomosunas serve as executive producers. Manu Boyer (Girl in the Basement) directs the teleplay by Gregory Small & Richard Blaney. Based on a Story by Nigel Campbell.
