9-1-1: LONE STAR (FOX) - The network has confirmed the show's upcoming fifth season of 12 episodes will be its last. "From the start, fans have followed the heroic and deeply moving stories of the men and women who make up Austin's 126, so a huge thanks to one of the greatest creative teams in all of television - Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear - for creating one of the most action-packed dramas anywhere," the network said in a statement. "Now in our final season of the show, we're set to give it the high-stakes send-off it deserves, complete with breathless rescues, insurmountable odds and relatable personal struggles, thanks to our incomparable, stellar cast led by Rob Lowe and Gina Torres." BEACON 23/WINTER KING, THE (MGM+) - The network has pulled the plug on both series. The former was an acquisition from the defunct Spectrum Originals. (TVLine.com, 9/6)
BLUE BLOODS (CBS) - Mira Sorvino and Debi Mazar will both drop by the show's final season. Mazar appears in the October 18 episode as Queens DA Evaline Romano, "a no-nonsense prosecutor who's investigating ADA Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) for alleged misconduct concerning a jury member in an important gang trial." And Sorvino guests in the November 1 episode as Veronica Radley, "the newly installed Fire Commissioner and the type of person who won't take guff from anyone - nor is she afraid to ruffle feathers when she's convinced that she's made the best decision." BOSCH: LEGACY (Freevee) - The "Bosch" sequel series will sign off with its upcoming third season in March. "For 10 years, Bosch and Bosch: Legacy have been two of our most defining series for Prime Video, Freevee and Amazon MGM Studios," Amazon MGM Studios said in a statement. "They are a testament to the enduring power of the storytelling universe that Michael Connelly built for the fans. We are proud of the impact these series have made, and we are excited that Michael, Titus, Henrik and the creative team have more engaging stories to tell in the Bosch world with the final season of Bosch: Legacy, our new Ballard series and more to come." The aforementioned Renée Ballard series starring Maggie Q is targeted for fall 2025. (Deadline.com, 9/6)
BUYING LONDON (Netflix) - The reality series has been canceled after one season. (Deadline.com, 9/4)
CHICAGO PD (NBC) - Shawn Hatosy will recur on the show's 12th season as Deputy Chief Charlie Reid, who "brings about a "new dynamic for the [Intelligence] unit." He'll first appear in the September 25 premiere. (Deadline.com, 9/5)
CONFESSIONS ON THE 7:45 (Hulu) - Charise Castro Smith's adaptation of Lisa Unger's novel, starring Jessica Alba and directed by Eva Longoria, has found a new home at Hulu after being development at Netflix two years ago. Alba is also executive producing via her Lady Metalmark Entertainment, along with Hyphenate Media Group's Longoria, Unger and 3 Arts Entertainment. Smith recently signed an overall deal with 20th Television. (Deadline.com, 9/3)
CRUTCH (Paramount+) - Jermaine Fowler will star opposite Tracy Morgan in the multi-camera comedy series as Jake Crutchfield, "an Ivy League educated lawyer who forgoes a high-paying position at a swanky, white shoe law firm to provide low-cost legal aid in Harlem." (Deadline.com, 9/3)
DOWNFORCE (Hulu) - Eve Hewson and Murray Bartlett have been tapped to star in the comedy pilot, which "follows Victoria (Hewson), the estranged daughter of a storied racing team's owner, Sir Trevor (Bartlett), who is thrust back into the family business, leaving the pair to find common ground or risk destroying the team's legacy." Sir Trevor is further described as the team's "larger-than-life founder and owner." And Victoria is "a shrewd and ruthless investment banker who finds her way back into the front office. She knows business, he knows racing, and together they have to figure out the business of racing after years apart." (Deadline.com, 9/4)
EAST OF EDEN (Netflix) - Christopher Abbott is in talks to join Florence Pugh in the limited series from Zoe Kazan, based on John Steinbeck's classic novel. (Deadline.com, 9/4)
FBI: INTERNATIONAL (CBS) - Jay Hayden will recur on the new season as Tyler Booth, "an intelligent and charismatic agent in Budapest looking for assistance on a case." (Deadline.com, 9/3)
FIRE COUNTRY (CBS) - Jared Padalecki has reupped his first-look deal with CBS Studios. The actor will appear on the CBS drama series in a three-episode arc with "an idea to explore a potential spinoff built around his character" colloquially referred to as "Fire Country: Surfside." (Deadline.com, 9/6)
GODFATHER OF HARLEM (MGM+) - Michael Benjamin Washington and Elijah Wright will both recur on the show's fourth season. Washington will play James Baldwin, "the renowned writer, social critic and activist from Harlem, known for his piercing insight into the complexities of race, identity, and human relationships. Baldwin is a commanding orator, soulful storyteller, and fierce advocate for justice." And Wright portrays Jerome Greene, "a kid from Harlem, driven by a fierce sense of duty and loyalty, who initially wants to fight in Vietnam but ultimately channels his passion into the Black Panthers, where he battles for justice and equality at home." GOING DUTCH (FOX) - The Denis Leary-led comedy series has set its principal cast. Taylor Misiak portrays Captain Maggie Quinn, "acting commanding officer of USAG in the Netherlands and the estranged daughter of The Colonel"; Danny Pudi is XO Major Abraham Shah, "The Colonel's Executive Officer and codependent right-hand man"; Laci Mosley is Sergeant Dana Conway, "the cunning, crafty Supply Sergeant at the base and Maggie's best friend (though Maggie is not her best friend)"; Hal Cumpston is Corporal Elias Papadakis, "'technically' a soldier, Papadakis is the base's brilliant head of IT"; and Dempsey Bryk recurs as Private Anthony "BA" Chapman, "a sweet baby himbo, BA is a golden retriever of a soldier." IRRATIONAL, THE (NBC) - Ron Canada has been cast as Alec and Kylie's father, Eli Mercer, on the new season. (TVLine.com, 9/4)
LAW & ORDER: SVU (NBC) - Kelli Giddish's Amanda Rollins, a former series regular, will continue to recur on the upcoming 26th season. (TVLine.com, 9/5)
MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS (Apple TV+) - Executive producer Chris Black has signed a two-year overall deal with producer Legendary Television. There he'll continue as showrunner of the series and spearhead one of the show's planned spin-off series. (Deadline.com, 9/4)
NEAGLEY (Amazon, New!) - Maria Sten is being eyed to topline a spin-off of "Reacher" focusing on her character Frances Neagley, "a corporate security professional and former military colleague of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) in the Army's 110th Special Investigations Unit." Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton are spearheading the project, which will feature Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher as a guest star. Lee Child, Don Granger, Lisa Kussner, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell will also executive produce for Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television and CBS Studios. (Deadline.com, 9/4)
OBITUARY (Hulu) - Máiréad Tyers has joined the cast of the show's second season as eccentric newspaper editor Vivienne: "She pits Elvira (Siobhán Cullen) against boyfriend Emerson (Ronan Raftery) in the newsroom." (Deadline.com, 9/3)
ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING (Hulu) - The streamer has ordered a fifth season of 10 episodes of the series, which returned on August 27. (Deadline.com, 9/4)
POKER FACE (Peacock) - Cynthia Erivo, Margo Martindale, and BJ Novak are the latest faces bound for the show's second season. (Variety.com, 9/4)
RAINMAKER, THE (USA Network) - Robyn Cara has been cast in the John Grisham adaptation as Kelly Riker, "a lonely young woman trapped in an abusive marriage who befriends her neighbor, Rudy." (Deadline.com, 9/4)
SOUTH PARK (Comedy Central) - The animated series will not return until 2025. It last aired its "The End of Obesity" special in May. (VanityFair.com, 9/5)
TEN HOUSE (CBS, New!) - Pilar Golden has sold a new drama to the Eye which "follows two rookies as they grapple with their legacies as children of 9/11 first responders while navigating burgeoning feelings toward one another, the firehouse's well-trained yet formidable veterans, and the demands of emergency response in the ever-changing yet always challenging city of New York." Two Shakes Entertainment's Damon Wayans Jr. and Kameron Tarlow will also executive produce for CBS Studios. (Deadline.com, 9/4)
THIS IS THE ZODIAC SPEAKING (Netflix, New!) - The streamer has acquired the three-part docuseries which "promises new insight about the unsolved murder case of the Zodiac Killer." The series "offers up new interviews and clues that places even more evidence that the only person to ever be named a suspect - Arthur Leigh Allen - may likely be the true culprit." Ari Mark and Phil Lott directed the project for Ample Entertainment as well as executive produced alongside P.G. Morgan. (Variety.com, 9/4)
UNICORN ACADEMY (Netflix) - The streamer has commissioned another 16 episodes of the series, covering the next two years and into 2026. (THR.com, 9/5)
VISION QUEST (Disney+) - Todd Stashwick has been cast in the Marvel Studios series in a yet-to-be-revealed role. Filming is targeted to begin in England in early 2025. (THR.com, 9/6)
WE'RE HERE (HBO) - The drag reality show will not return for a fifth season. "We are honored to have brought four heartfelt and impactful seasons of 'We're Here' to viewers around the world, amidst ongoing hostility directed at drag performers and aggression towards the LGBTQ+ community at large," the network said in a statement. "The two recent Emmy nominations, along with four previous Emmy wins, a Peabody Award, a Critics Choice Real TV and LGBTQ Award, Television Academy Honors and three GLAAD Media Awards, fill us with enormous pride. After bringing the show to over 20 towns across America, the series' journey has come to an end, with the fourth season being its final. Z-SUITE, THE (Tubi) - Spencer Stevenson, Anna Bezahler and Evan Marsh are the latest additions to the Lauren Graham-led comedy series. Stevenson plays Elliot, "the manic-pixie-dream-boy of the social media team; his head is in the clouds but his feet are in 6-inch heels." Bezahler portrays Clem, "the off-color "slacker" of the social media team whose passions include making art, eating food and napping." And Marsh is Minnesota Matt, "the ambitious Millennial supervisor to the social media team whose try-hard personality rubs people the wrong way." Madison Shamoun and Nico Santos also star.
