'East Palace' (WT) Begins Production: Nam Joo-Hyuk, Roh Yoon-Seo, and Cho Seung-Woo Step Into a World of Ghosts and Spirits
A never-before-seen world of ghosts and spirits is coming to Netflix with East Palace (WT). Written by Kwon So-ra and Seo Jea-won of Bulgasal: Immortal Souls and directed by Choi Jung-kyu of The Devil Judge, the series presents a thrilling tale crafted by these genre masters, brought to life by a stellar cast.
Nam Joo-hyuk (Twenty Five Twenty One, Start-up, The School Nurse Files) stars as Gu-cheon, who can traverse the world of ghosts and defeat them with his sword. Snuck into the cursed palace to solve the strange incidents occurring within, Gu-cheon is met with a dark world beyond his imagination. He's joined by Roh Yoon-seo (Crash Course in Romance, 20th Century Girl, Our Blues), who plays Saeng-gang, a court lady born with the ability to hear ghosts. Having thought of this ability as a curse her whole life, she uses it now to uncover the palace's secrets with Gu-cheon, while keeping a secret of her own. Cho Seung-woo (Divorce Attorney Shin, Sisyphus, Life, Stranger) takes on the role of the King, who quietly enlists these two extraordinary people to take care of the palace's curse. Though his rule is good, there are darker sides to the complex King.
As Gu-cheon and Saeng-gang answer the King's call to unearth the palace's curse, what kind of deep secrets will surface? All eyes are already on East Palace (WT), coming soon, only on Netflix.
