MEDIA ALERT: FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS IN DEVELOPMENT AT PEACOCK
A new adaptation of the acclaimed series Friday Night Lights is in development at Peacock. Universal Television, who produced the original series, will serve as the studio.
Original showrunner and executive producer Jason Katims will return to helm along with original director and executive producer Peter Berg, who originally developed for television, and original executive producer Brian Grazer.
Kristen Zolner will also join as executive producer for Imagine Entertainment
LOGLINE: Following a devastating hurricane, a rag tag high school football team and their damaged, interim coach make an unlikely bid for a Texas High School State Championship becoming a beacon of light for their town.
Brian Grazer produced, and Peter Berg directed the 2004 film, Friday Night Lights. Grazer and Berg teamed up with showrunner Jason Katims for the original Friday Night Lights, which aired on NBC (and later the 101 Network) for 76 episodes across five seasons (2006-2011) and received multiple Emmy-award nominations and wins.
