Lunar New Year Must-Watch: Period Rom-Com Drama Series 'Perfect Match' Premieres January 25

Just in time for the Lunar New Year festivities, romantic comedy series Perfect Match is coming to screens on January 25, bringing heartwarming themes of kinship for the whole family to enjoy. Unveiling its official trailer today, the series follows Madam Li (Ni Hong-jie) who moves her five beautiful daughters to the prosperous city of Bianjing to start a teahouse business. This marks the beginning of the legendary tale of the Li family, with each daughter embarking on her own romantic journey.

Ni Hong-jie, who plays the family matriarch Madam Li, describes Perfect Match as not only a lighthearted and entertaining historical drama but also a story that delves into family relationships and views on marriage, conveying simple yet profound life lessons. Ni hopes the drama will bring joy to viewers while offering strength to face various life challenges.

Meet the five stunning couples: Third daughter Kangning (Lu Yu-xiao) and the capital's landlord Chai An (Wang Xing-yue) was clash at first sight, but their initial conflict quickly turns into sparks of love. Meanwhile, second daughter Fuhui (Wu Xuan-yi) navigates a love-hate relationship with her timid husband Fan Liang-han (Huang Sheng-chi). The eldest daughter Shouhua (Liu Xie-ning) unexpectedly enters into a marriage with her scholar husband Du Yang-xi (Chen He-yi). Fourth daughter Haode (Ke Ying) encounters magistrate judge Shen Hui-zhao (Liang Yong-qi), while the youngest daughter Leshan (Huang Yang Tian-tian) meets the mischievous young master Yang Xian (Dong Si-cheng) and embarks on a battle of wills.

With Lunar New Year just around the corner, the cast also took the opportunity to share early holiday greetings to fans on Netflix. "We wish everyone a joyful and prosperous New Year! May the coming year bring you happiness and good fortune!" wishes Ni. Wang Xing-yue adds, "Come to Bianjing, and you'll surely be served the finest tea!" reminding fans not to miss Perfect Match. Lu Yu-xiao expresses her well-wishes for all, and is eagerly waiting for fans to meet her character, the third daughter Kangning.

Executive produced by Yu Zheng (Story of Yanxi Palace, Beauty's Rival in Palace, Female Prime Minister) and directed by Yang Huan (Lost You Forever), Bai Yun-mo and Ma Shi-ge (The Double), Perfect Match is an endearing period drama produced by Huanyu Entertainment, set to debut exclusively and globally on Netflix. Starring Lu Yu-xiao, Wang Xing-yue, Ni Hong-jie, Liu Xie-ning, Dong Si-cheng and more, the series presents a heartwarming and lighthearted story filled with clever dialogues and contemporary takes on romantic and familial relationships.

Story: Set during the reign of Renzong in the Northern Song Dynasty, Madam Li moves her family to the prosperous city of Bianjing to start a teahouse business while scouting for the perfect match for each of her beautiful daughters.
