NBC RATINGS RESULTS FOR THE WEEK OF JAN. 29 - FEB. 4

THE #1 NEW SERIES OF THE SEASON, 'HEROES,' IS THE TOP-RATED SHOW ON TELEVISION MONDAY IN 18-49

'DEAL OR NO DEAL,' 'MEDIUM,' 'MY NAME IS EARL,' 'ER' AND 'SVU' ARE ALL TIME PERIOD WINNERS IN 18-49 AND OTHER KEY MEASURES

NBC IS UP 13 PERCENT IN 18-49 AND 16 PERCENT IN 18-34 THROUGH THE FIRST 20 WEEKS OF THE 2006-07 SEASON, THE MOST GROWTH OF ANY MAJOR NETWORK IN THESE KEY DEMOS

BURBANK, Calif. � February 6, 2007 � NBC averaged a 2.8 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 8.2 million viewers overall for the week of January 29-February 4, according to "live plus same day" in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

This week, "Heroes" was the top-ranked freshman series in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49, ranking #10 overall (out of a total 99 shows). "Heroes" was also the top-ranked first-year series in adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and other key demographics. Season-to-date, "Heroes" is the #1 new primetime series of the 2006-07 television season in all relevant measures, including adults 18-49, adults 25-54 adults 18-34 and total viewers.

For the first 20 weeks of the 2006-07 television season, NBC is showing the largest year-to-year gains in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49. NBC is up 13 percent versus the same period last year (3.5 rating versus 3.1). In that same comparison, CBS, with this year's Super Bowl factored in, is up 3 percent, Fox is flat and ABC is down 17 percent. Season-to-date in total viewers, NBC is again showing the biggest gains year-to-year. NBC is up 8 percent versus the opening 20 weeks of the last season (9.8 million vs. 9.1 million). Fox is up 4 percent by that measure, CBS, is up 1 percent and ABC is down 14 percent.

Additionally, NBC is showing the most growth season-to-date among adults 18-34, up 16 percent versus the first 20 weeks of last season (2.9 vs. 2.5). In 18-34, CBS is now up 4 percent, Fox is down 6 percent and ABC is down 15 percent

Primetime averages for the week of January 29-February 4 in adults 18-49 were CBS (8.1/20), Fox (4.6/11), NBC (2.8/7), ABC (2.7/7), Univision (1.7/4), CW (1.2/3) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (23.7 million), Fox (11.4 million), NBC (8.2 million), ABC (7.4 million), Univision (3.9 million), CW (3.0 million) and Telemundo (0.9 million).

NBC highlights for the week of January 29-February 4:

* On Monday, "Heroes" was the highest-rated show on television in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49.

* Also on Monday, "Deal or No Deal" won its time period decisively in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. "Deal" topped its nearest rival, Fox's "Prison Break," by 17 percent in 18-49 and by 7.0 million viewers overall.

* On Thursday, both "My Name is Earl" and "The Office" ranked #1 in their respective time periods in adults 18-49 and other key demographics. "Earl" was up by 13 percent in adults 18-49 and "The Office" was up by 19 percent in 18-49 versus their respective season-to-date averages for first-run telecasts.

* Also on Thursday, "ER" won its hour decisively in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54, topping rival dramas that benefited from sizable lead-in advantages.

* On Wednesday, "Deal or No Deal" was the top-rated alternative to "American Idol" in 18-49, total viewers and all key measures, generating its second consecutive week of growth in 18-49 and total viewers versus "Idol" competition.

* Also on Wednesday, "Medium" won its time period in adults 18-49, with its best numbers since December 13, and "Friday Night Lights" attracted its highest overall viewership for a regular slot episode since its series premiere on October 3. NBC ranked #2 on Wednesday in adults 18-49, trailing only Fox with "Idol."

* On Tuesday, an encore episode of "Law & Order: SVU" won its time period in adults 18-49, topping first-run competition on ABC and CBS.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of January 29-February 4:

On Monday, Jan. 29, at 8 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (4.8 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49, 16.9 million viewers overall) was #1 in the time period in 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. "Deal" generated a 17 percent margin of victory over its nearest competitor in 18-49 (4.8 vs. a 4.1 for Fox's "Prison Break"). In total viewers, "Deal" prevailed by more than 7.0 million viewers (16.6 million vs. 9.9 million for "Prison Break"). "Deal" was up by 92 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's results in this hour on the same night last year.

Monday at 9 p.m. ET, "Heroes" (6.1/14 in 18-49, 13.6 million viewers overall) was a decisive #1 in the time period in adults 18-49, outperforming its nearest rival by 13 percent (6.1 vs. 5.4 for Fox's "24"). Among adults 18-34, "Heroes" prevailed by 33 percent over its closest competition (6.0 vs. 4.5 for "24"). Versus NBC's performance in this hour on the same night last year, "Heroes" was up 144 percent in 18-49, while all the other networks were down.

At 10 p.m. ET, "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" (3.0/8 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and total viewers and #1 (tied) in adults 18-34.

NBC was a strong #2 on Monday night in adults 18-49 (#1 from 8-10 p.m. ET in head-to-head competition with Fox) and won Monday night in overall total viewers. This marks NBC's ninth Monday win of the season in total viewers. Versus the same Monday night last year, NBC was up 84 percent in adults 18-49 (4.6 vs. 2.5) and by 4.8 million viewers overall (12.5 million vs. 7.6 million)

On Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (2.1/5 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall) was up 24 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's result in this time period on the same night last year, posting NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this slot when facing "Idol" competition since February 28, 2006. At 9 p.m., an encore "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" delivered a 2.0/5 in 18-49 and 6.5 million viewers overall.

Tuesday from 10-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.9/8 in 18-49, 8.3 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in adults 18-49, outperforming first-run competition from ABC's "Boston Legal" and CBS' "48 Hours."

On Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 8 p.m. ET, "Friday Night Lights" delivered a 2.4/6 in 18-49 and 6.7 million viewers overall. This matched the series highest 18-49 rating since a special Monday 10 p.m. telecast on October 30. In total viewers, this was the most-watched regular time period episode of "Lights" since its series premiere on October 3.

Wednesday from 9-10 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (3.1/7 in 18-49, 11.4 million viewers overall) was the top-rated alternative to "American Idol" in adults 18-49, total viewers and every key ratings category. "Deal" was up 19 percent in 18-49 rating versus the prior Wednesday (3.1 vs. 2.6) and up by 41 percent versus two weeks earlier (3.1 vs. 2.2). In total viewers, "Deal" was up by 1.5 million viewers versus the prior Wednesday and up by 2.8 million viewers versus two weeks earlier. Despite going head-to-head against "American Idol," "Deal" built by 24 percent in 18-49 versus its lead-in.

At 10 p.m. ET, "Medium" (3.4/9 in 18-49, 9.9 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in the time period in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key measures, outperforming "Primetime" on ABC and an encore telecast of "CSI: NY" on CBS. "Medium" channeled its highest 18-49 and total viewer results since December 13 (live plus same day).

NBC ranked #2 on Wednesday in adults 18-49, trailing only an "Idol"-powered Fox.

On Thursday, Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore "My Name is Earl" (4.5/12 in 18-49, 10.7 million viewers overall) won its time period in adults 18-49 and in all key adult male demos. "Earl" delivered its second-highest 18-49 rating and total viewer results of the season and was up 13 percent in adults 18-49 versus its season-to-date average for original episodes (4.4 vs. 4.0).

Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET, "The Office" (5.0/13 in 18-49, 10.1 million viewers overall) matched its highest 18-49 rating in more than a year (since January 12, 2006). "The Office" ranked #1 in adults 18-49 (tied with "Ugly Betty") and won its time period outright in adults 18-34 and all key adult male demos. "The Office" was up 19 percent in 18-49 versus its current season-to-date average for original episodes (5.0 vs. 4.2).

Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, "Scrubs" (3.5/8 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall) was up 21 percent in 18-49 rating versus its last original episode that went head-to-head with original episodes of both "Grey's Anatomy" and "CSI" (3.5 vs. a 2.9 on January 18). From 9:31-10:01 p.m., "30 Rock" (2.9/7 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall) retained 83 percent of its adults 18-49 lead-in from "Scrubs" versus a 78 percent average for its previous original episodes.

Thursday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "ER" (5.0/13 in 18-49, 11.8 million viewers overall) won its time period decisively in adults 18-49, 18-34 and 25-54, topping rival programming that benefited from sizable lead-in advantages. "ER" built on NBC's 18-49 rating in the previous half-hour by 72 percent, while the competing programs in the hour both declined substantially � ABC's "Men in Trees" fell 66 percent in 18-49 versus its lead-in from "Grey's Anatomy" (10.3 to 3.5) and "Shark" sank 41 percent in 18-49 versus its "CSI" lead-in (6.8 to 4.0). In total viewers, "ER" surged by more than 6.0 million viewers versus its lead-in, while "Shark" dropped by 7.4 million viewers and "Men in Trees" plunged by 14.4 million versus their respective lead-ins.

On Friday, Feb. 2 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "1 vs 100" (2.8/9 in 18-49, 10.2 million viewers overall) matched its highest regular slot 18-49 rating since November 3 and delivered its highest regular slot viewership since that date. "1 vs 100" ranked #2 in the time period in 18-49 and #1 in adults 18-34. At 9 p.m., an encore "Las Vegas" (2.6/8 in 18-49, 9.5 million viewers overall) was #2 in adults 18-49 and other key measures. At 10 p.m., "Law & Order" (2.7/8 in 18-49, 9.5 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and other key measures.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) hit its highest 18-49 rating in three weeks and attracted its highest Saturday viewership since December 2. At 9 p.m., an encore telecast of "Law & Order: SVU" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall) captured NBC's highest non-sports 18-49 rating in this slot since December 23. At 10 p.m., an encore "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 36 percent in 18-49 to achieve NBC's highest non-sports 18-49 rating in the hour since December 23. In total viewers, it was NBC's top non-sports result in the slot since November 11.

On Sunday, Feb. 4, from 7-8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Grease: You're the One That I Want" averaged a 0.5/1 in 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers overall. From 9-11 p.m., a two-hour encore of "Grease" averaged a 1.2/3 in 18-49 and 4.0 million viewers overall.

Note: A rebroadcast of "Grease: You're the One That I Want" from 8-9 p.m. ET was sustaining and is not included in the nightly or weekly averages.
