"60 MINUTES" RANKS FIRST IN HOUSEHOLDS FOR THE WEEK, SECOND IN VIEWERS AND WINS SUNDAY NIGHT FOR THE SIXTH STRAIGHT WEEK
60 MINUTES landed atop the Nielsen weekly rankings last week, finishing first in households and second in viewers. The number one newsmagazine also won its Sunday timeslot in both those categories for the sixth consecutive week.
Sunday's broadcast delivered a 6.8/13 rating and share with 10.22m viewers, 2.9/09 in adults 25-54 and 2.1/08 in adults 18-49. Compared to the same week last year, 60 MINUTES was up +8% in households, +32% in adults 25-54 and +24% in adults 18-49.
The program featured three repeat segments: a Scott Pelley report on the crisis in Darfur; CNN Anchor Anderson Cooper's story on hip-hop culture's message not to cooperate with police; and Bob Simon's profile of comedian Dan Whitney, known as Larry the Cable Guy.
