SCI FI CHANNEL HAS BEST 3RD QUARTER EVER AMONG YOUNGER VIEWERS
Eureka, Ghost Hunters and Stargate Atlantis Continue to Drive Viewership
SCI FI Ranks 6th Overall for Month of September
New York, NY � October 2, 2007 � As the SCI FI Channel approaches the 15-year milestone, the Channel's audience continues to get younger enjoying its best 3rd quarter ever among younger viewers averaging 222,000 adults 18-34 and 100,000 women 18-34. The Channel is also up this quarter in key female demos: +8% among women 18-49 and +5% among those 25-54.
For the quarter SCI FI averaged a .9 HH rating, 567,000 Adults 18-49, 634,000 Adults 25-54, and 1,186,000 total viewers.
SCI FI was the 6th ranked basic cable entertainment network for the month of September averaging a 1.0 HH rating, 581,000 Adults 18-49, 647,000 Adults 25-54, and 1,232,000 total viewers and was up in key female demos (+19% F18-34, +9% F1849, +5% F25-54).
Program Highlights
The fall season premiere of Ghost Hunters on September 26th at 9PM averaged a 1.4 HH rating (+13% vs. last year's season premiere on 10/11/06), 544,000 Adults 18-34 (+85%), 1,240,000 Adults 18-49 (+31%), 1,147,000 Adults 25-54 (+14%) and 2,015,000 total viewers (+32%)
The Season 2 premiere of Eureka on July 10th was the # 1 program of the day among Adults 25-54 (+4% vs. the Season 1 average), bringing in 1,579,000 impressions (+3%). It also claimed a 2.0 HH rating, 1,492,000 Adults 18-49 (+14%), and 2,859,000 total viewers. Eureka's Season 2 debut is SCI FI's # 1 telecast in 2007 for Adults 18-49.
Eureka is SCI FI's top series in 2007 to-date in total viewers, averaging 2.54 MM total viewers.
The 3rd season premiere of Stargate Atlantis on Friday, September 28 at 10PM delivered a 1.2 HH rating, 1.698 million total viewers, 896,000 Adults 18-49, and 962,000 Adults 25-54. Compared to the show's season 3.5 performance (April-June 2007), the premiere is up +7% in Adults 18-49, +6% in total viewers and +2% in Adults 25-54.
