SCI FI IS THE #4 BASIC CABLE ENTERTAINMENT NETWORK AMONG ADULTS 25 � 54 FOR OCTOBER
New York, NY � October 30, 2007 � Fueled by its 13 Days of Halloween programming and strong performances from the new season of Ghost Hunters, SCI FI Channel was the 4th ranked basic cable network among Adults 25 � 54 (606,000) for the month of October. SCI FI also enjoyed its best October ever in Adults 18-34 (255,000), Men 18�34 (139,000), Women 18-34 (116,000) and Women 18-49 (250,000).
Additionally, SCI FI ranked in the top ten among Adults 18-49, Women 18-49, and in all key male demographics: 18-34, 18-49, and 25-54. Compared to last October, SCI FI had growth among key demos including Adults 18-34 (+11%), Men 18-34 (+5%), Women 18-34 (+20%) and Women 18-49 (+1%).
The fall season of Ghost Hunters has exceeded the fall 2006 season by 15% in Household ratings, and is up 41% among Adults 18-34,18% among Adults 18-49, 14% among Adults 25-54 and 21% among total viewers.
Last week (10/24/07) SCI FI had its best Wednesday prime ever with regularly scheduled programming with 1.1 million Adults 18-49 and 1.07 million Adults 25-54. A new episode of Ghost Hunters delivered a 1.47 household rating and 1,962,000 total viewers as well as a fall 2007 season high of 1,334,000 Adults 18-49 and the season's second best Adult 25-54 (1,265,000). The telecast also marked the third-highest Adult 18-49 delivery in the history of the series, behind only the season finales in fall 2005 and summer 2007.
SCI FI's 13 Days of Halloween programming stunt is outperforming both ABC Family's 13 Nights of Halloween and AMC's Monsterfest. Among total viewers SCI FI is ahead by 28% vs. ABCF and AMC: among Adults 18-49, SCI FI has an 18% edge over AMC and a 42% edge over ABCF; and for Adults 25-54 SCI FI is beating ABCF by 59% and AMC by 32%. SCI FI also has a 26% edge over ABCF among Adults 18-34.
SCI FI's record-setting October follows on the heels of a remarkable ratings year for the Channel, including best second and third quarters ever among younger viewers, and best April, May and June ratings among key demographics.
