New Music Competition Show From 'American Idol' Producers FremantleMedia North America Garners More Than 12 Million Viewers For Premiere and Encore Airings
NASHVILLE � April 22, 2008 � CMT's new series CAN YOU DUET became the network's highest-rated original series debut ever following its Monday, April 14 premiere, averaging 1.4 million impressions (P2+), with 736,000 of those falling in the key 18-49 demo. Auditions continued in episode two which premiered Friday, April 18, and the series to-date has seen by some 12 million total viewers* cumulative over the course of its premiere airing and weekend encores.
From "American Idol" producers FremantleMedia North America, CAN YOU DUET features thousands of country star hopefuls in the quest to become country's next great duo and the winner of a Sony BMG Nashville recording contract. The 11-episode music competition series stars host Rossi Morreale who leads a panel of celebrity and expert judge/mentors, including country superstar Naomi Judd, acclaimed vocal coach Brett Manning and award-winning songwriter Aimee Mayo. New one-hour episodes premiere every Friday at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CMT.
