BURBANK, Calif. � June 3, 2008 � NBC averaged a 1.8 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.3 million viewers overall for the week of May 26-June 1, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. For the week, NBC ranked #2 in adults 18-49, tied with ABC and CBS, and ranked #2 outright in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49. In adults 18-49, NBC finished #1 or tied for #1 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Through 36 weeks of the 2007-08 season, Fox leads in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49, with the race for #2 exceptionally tight. Season-to-date averages in adults 18-49 for the period September 24, 2007 through June 1, 2008 are Fox (4.2/11), ABC (3.0/8), CBS (2.9/8), NBC (2.8/7), Univision (1.5/4), CW (1.0/3) and Telemundo (0.4/1).

NBC is the only major network that has not seen its audience get significantly older this season versus last and it is now the "second-youngest" of the major broadcast networks. Through the first 36 weeks of the 2007-08 season, NBC is nearly matching its median age from the prior season (48.4 years this season vs. 48.2 years last season). In this same comparison, ABC's median age has increased by 2.1 years (to 49.2 from 47.1), CBS's median age has increased to 52.9 years old from 52.1 and Fox's median age has increased by 1.3 years to 43.9 from 42.6 years old at this point last season.

Primetime averages for the week of May 26-June 1 in adults 18-49 were Fox (2.4/7), NBC, CBS and ABC (1.8/5), Univision (1.4/4), CW (0.6/3) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (7.3 million), Fox (6.1 million), ABC (5.5 million), NBC (5.3 million), Univision (3.3 million), CW (1.8 million) and Telemundo (0.9 million).

NBC highlights for the week of May 26-June 1:

* On Monday, a 90-minute "American Gladiators" ranked #1 in the time period among the broadcast networks in adults and men 18-34 and #2 in adults 18-49. Versus the prior week's telecast, "Gladiators" increased by 6 percent in 18-49, by 13 percent in adults 18-34 and by 27 percent in total viewers.

* On Tuesday, two episodes of "Most Outrageous Moments" combined to give NBC its highest 18-49 rating and biggest total viewership in the Tuesday 8 p.m. hour since the April 15 finale of "The Biggest Loser."

* Also on Tuesday, an encore "Law & Order: SVU" won the 10 p.m. hour in adults 18-49 and other key demos, and the 9 p.m. "SVU" rebroadcast surged by 50 percent in 18-49 rating and by 82 percent in total viewers versus the prior week's encore telecast. "SVU" ranked #8 (tied) among all programs this week on the broadcast networks in adults 18-49.

* On Wednesday, NBC Sports coverage of Game 3 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals tripled the 18-49 rating of last year's Game 3 telecast and was up by 148 percent in total viewers. The match-up between the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins was the top-rated Stanley Cup Finals Game 3 in 18-49 and total viewers in six years (since 2002).

* On Thursday, "Last Comic Standing" grew by 77 percent in 18-48 rating and by 58 percent in total viewers from its first half-hour to its fourth, despite facing head-to-head competition in its final three half-hours from the season finale of "Lost."

* On Friday, a two-hour "Dateline NBC" was the #1 show of the night in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key demos, pacing NBC to a #1 finish for the night in adults 18-49 (tied with CBS).

* On Saturday, NBC skated to a primetime win in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and all key adult male demographics, propelled by NBC Sports coverage of Game 4 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals between the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins. This marks the first time Stanley Cup coverage has scored a primetime win in adults 18-49 since 2001.

* Paced by a two-hour "Dateline," NBC ranked #1 on Sunday night in adults 18-49 (tied with Fox) with its highest Sunday average in 11 weeks in primetime's key demographic.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of May 26-June 1:

On Monday, May 26 from 8-9:30 p.m. ET, "American Gladiators" (1.8 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall) ranked #2 among the broadcast networks in the time period in adults 18-49 and was #1 among adults and men 18-34.

Versus the prior week's telecast, "American Gladiators" was up 6 percent in 18-49 rating (1.8 vs. 1.7), up 13 percent in adults 18-34 (1.7 vs. 1.5) and up 27 percent or more than 1.0 million persons in total viewers (5.1 million vs. 4.0 million).

From its first half-hour to its third, "American Gladiators" grew by 25 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.0/5 from a 1.6/4) and by 19 percent in total viewers (to 5.5 million from 4.6 million).

Monday from 9:30-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" averaged a 1.6/4 in 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers overall. From its first to its third half-hour, "Dateline" increased by 29 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8/5 from a 1.4/4) and by 27 percent or more than 1.2 million persons, in total viewers (to 5.7 million from 4.5 million).

On Tuesday, May 27 at 8 p.m. ET, "Most Outrageous Moments" delivered a 1.7/5 in adults 18-49 and 5.9 million viewers overall, and from 8:30-9 p.m., an encore telecast of "Most Outrageous Moments" averaged a 1.9/5 in 18-49 and 6.3 million viewers overall.

These two telecasts of "Most Outrageous Moments" combined to give NBC its highest 18-49 ratings and total viewer results in this time period since the season finale of "Biggest Loser" on April 15. Versus the prior week, the 8 and 8:30 p.m. "Most Outrageous Moments" increased by 21 percent and 27 percent respectively in 18-49 rating and by 49 percent and 57 percent respectively in total viewers. NBC ranked #2 in the hour in adults 18-49 (tied) and adults 18-34.

At 9 p.m., an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.1/5 in 18-49, 7.1 million viewers overall) was up by 40 percent in 18-49 rating and by 52 percent or more than 2.4 million persons in total viewers versus the prior three-week average for "SVU" encores in this time period. Versus the prior week, "SVU" increased by 50 percent in 18-49 rating (2.1 vs. 1.4) and by 82 percent or more than 3.1 million persons in total viewers (7.1 million vs. 3.9 million).

At 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.5/7 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall) won the time period in adults 18-49 and other key demographic measures. Week-to-week, the 10 p.m. "SVU" encore was up 19 percent in 18-49 (2.5/7 vs. 2.1/5) and 27 percent or more than 1.5 million persons in total viewers (7.3 million vs. 5.8 million).

On Wednesday, May 28 from 8-11 p.m. ET, NBC Sports coverage of the Detroit Red Wings-Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup Finals Game 3 averaged a 1.8/5 in adults 18-49 and 4.0 million viewers overall. This was the highest-rated Game 3 for a Stanley Cup Finals telecast in 18-49 and total viewers in six years (since June 8, 2002; Red Wings-Hurricanes) and the top-rated non-Game-7 for any Stanley Cup Finals telecast since Game 6 of the 2004 Finals (June 5, 2004; Lightning-Flames)

This year's Stanley Cup Finals Game 3 telecast was up 200 percent in 18-49 rating and 148 percent in total viewers versus last year's Game 3 (Ducks-Senators, which averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 1.6 million viewers overall on Saturday, June 2, 2007).

On Thursday, May 29, from 8:30-10:31 p.m., ET "Last Comic Standing" (1.9/5 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall) grew by 77 percent in 18-49 rating and by 58 percent or more than 1.9 million persons in total viewers from its first half-hour to its fourth (to a 2.3/6 in 18-49 and 5.3 million viewers overall from a 1.3/4 in 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall). "Last Comic" achieved this remarkable growth despite head-to-head competition in its final three half-hours from the season finale of ABC's "Lost."

"Last Comic" on Thursday was book-ended by two encore episodes of "The Office," which averaged a 1.2/4 in 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, and a 1.6/4 in 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall from 10:31-11 p.m.

On Friday, May 30 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Most Outrageous Moments" delivered a 1.1/4 in 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers overall. From 8:30-9 p.m., a second encore of "Most Outrageous Moments" delivered a 1.1/4 in 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers overall. "Most Outrageous Moments" ranked #2 in the hour in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures.

Friday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall) was the #1 telecast of the night on any network in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key measures. "Dateline" matched NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period in four weeks (since May 2) and delivered the network's biggest overall viewership in the slot in five weeks (since April 25). From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline" increased by 38 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8/6 from a 1.3/5) and by 25 percent or more than 1.3 million persons in total viewers (to 6.6 million from 5.3 million).

NBC ranked #1 on Friday night in adults 18-49 (tied with CBS).

On Saturday, May 31 from 8-11 p.m. ET, NBC Sports coverage of the Detroit Red Wings-Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup Finals Game 4 averaged a 1.7/6 in adults 18-49 and 4.0 million viewers overall. This gave NBC its highest 18-49 rating for a Saturday night since January 5, the night of the Jaguar-Steelers NFL Wild Card Game.

NBC ranked #1 in primetime on Saturday in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demographics � men 18-49, 18-34 and 25-54. This marks the first time Stanley Cup coverage has scored a primetime win in adults 18-49 since Saturday, June 9, 2001 (Game 7 of the Avalanche-Devils Final).

Versus last year's Saturday Stanley Cup Finals telecast (Game 3 of the Ducks-Senators), this year's Saturday telecast was up 183 percent in 18-49 rating (1.6/6 vs. 0.6/2) and 150 percent in total viewers (4.0 million vs. 1.6 million).

This was the top-scoring Saturday telecast for a Stanley Cup Finals game in both adults 18-49 and total viewers since 2004 (Game 6 of the Lightning-Flames series, which averaged a 1.8/7 in 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers overall on June 5, 2004).

On Sunday, June 1 from 7-9 p.m. ET, the encore special "100 Most Outrageous Moments of All Time" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 5.5 million viewers overall) scored NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period in 11 weeks (since March 16) and top total-viewer result in the slot in five weeks (since April 27). The encore special ranked #2 in the time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures.

From its first half-hour to its fourth, "100 Most Outrageous Moments of All Time" increased by 67 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.0/6 from a 1.2/5) and by 58 percent or more than 2.5 million persons in total viewers (to 6.9 million from 4.3 million).

Sunday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (2.1/6 in 18-49, 8.1 million viewers overall) reported NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period in 10 weeks (since March 23) and biggest total viewership in 13 weeks (since March 2). "Dateline" won the 9-11 p.m. time period in total viewers, adults 25-54, women 18-49 and women 25-54.

NBC ranked #1 on Sunday night in adults 18-49 (tied with Fox), with its highest 18-49 average for the night in 11 weeks (since March 16).
