CBS placed first for the week in viewers and key demographics and posted year-to-year gains for the fifth consecutive week, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Dec. 14, week 12 of the 2008-2009 television season.

CBS extended its viewer winning streak to 11 consecutive weeks, 7th straight win in adults 25-54 and posted its sixth win of the year in adults 18-49, more than any other network. Season-to-date, CBS is now first in all key measures.

The week saw series high ratings for THE BIG BANG THEORY, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and ELEVENTH HOUR, season best deliveries for TWO AND A HALF MEN and OLD CHRISTINE as well as CSI's largest audience since its season premiere.

CBS has 13 new and returning programs up vs. the year-ago program/time period, more than any other network: THE BIG BANG THEORY, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, TWO AND A HALF MEN, NCIS, THE MENTALIST, WITHOUT A TRACE, THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE, CRIMINAL MINDS, CSI: NY, CSI, GHOST WHISPERER, NUMB3RS and 60 MINUTES.

For the week in viewers: CBS (11.91m), NBC (8.76m), ABC (6.31m) and FOX (5.99m). Season-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (12.03m), ahead of ABC (10.20m), NBC (7.99m) and FOX (7.94m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (4.3/11) and adults 18-49 (3.3/09). Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +6% in households, +7% in viewers, +8% in adults 25-54 and +3% in adults 18-49. CBS has posted weekly gains in viewers for the fifth consecutive week. Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

For the week in households: CBS (7.4/12), NBC (5.4/09), ABC (4.0/07) and FOX (3.7/06). Season-to-date, CBS is first (7.5/12) ahead of ABC (6.5/10), NBC (5.0/08) and FOX (4.9/08).

CBS's Weekly Highlights

? THE BIG BANG THEORY won its time slot in households (6.5/10), adults 18-34 (2.9/08), tied for first in adults 25-54 (4.4/11, with ABC), placed second behind "Charlie Brown Christmas" in viewers (10.50m) and adults 18-49 (3.7/10, -0.1 behind ABC). THE BIG BANG THEORY posted series highs in households and viewers.

? HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was first in households (6.4/10), adults 25-54 (4.7/11), adults 18-49 (4.2/11), adults 18-34 (3.9/10) and second in viewers (10.49m). This is HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER's best delivery in adults 18-34 ever, in households since Feb. 5, 2007 and best viewer total since March 24, 2008 (the first Britney Spears appearance).

? TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in households (9.5/14), viewers (15.59m), adults 25-54 (6.3/14) and adults 18-49 (5.2/13). This is TWO AND A HALF MEN's best deliveries in households and viewers since Feb. 26, 2007.

? WORST WEEK was first in households (6.7/10), viewers (10.44m), adults 25-54 (4.1/09) and second in adults 18-49 (3.4/08, -0.2 behind NBC). WORST WEEK's delivered its best household, viewers and adults 18-49 performances since its September 22, 2008 premiere and matched the series' second best adults 25-54 performance.

CBS dominated the night, nearly doubling the closest network in households (vs. 3.9/06, +97% ahead of NBC and ABC), +79% ahead in adults 25-54 (vs. 2.4/06, ABC and FOX), +50% ahead in adults 18-49 (vs. 2.2/06, FOX) and doubling the second place network's viewer delivery (vs. 5.98m, +100% ahead of NBC). CBS won the last four Wednesdays in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

? THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE was first in households (5.4/09), viewers (7.94m), adults 25-54 (3.0/08) and second in adults 18-49 (2.2/07). THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE posted season highs in households and viewers.

? GARY UNMARRIED was first in households (5.0/08), second in viewers (7.73m, -0.01m behind FOX), adults 25-54 (3.1/08) and adults 18-49 (2.4/07). GARY UNMARRIED matched its season high household delivery and posted its second largest audience to date.

? CRIMINAL MINDS was first in households (9.3/15), viewers (14.68m), adults 25-54 (5.1/12) and adults 18-49 (3.9/10).
