"The Late Show with David Letterman" Tops "The Tonight Show" in Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 for the First Time Since 2005 and Places First (Tie) in Adults 18-34

"Late Show" and "The Late Late Show" Both Post Audience Growth Compared to Premiere Week Last Year

CBS's LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN topped "The Tonight Show" in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the first time since 2005 and tied in adults 18-34 while THE LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON also placed first in viewers, adults 18-49 (tie) and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sept. 25, the first week of the 2009-2010 season.

LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN posted a 3.5/09 in households with an average of 5.04m viewers, up +25% in households (from 2.8/07) and +28% in viewers (from 3.94m) compared to premiere week last year. LATE SHOW was up +7% in adults 25-54 (1.6/07 from 1.5/06), +18% in adults 18-49 (1.3/05 from 1.1/05) and even in adults 18-34 (0.8/04) compared to premiere week last year.

This is LATE SHOW's best premiere week delivery in households since 2004, in viewers since 2001, in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since 2006.

LATE SHOW posted its largest margin of victory over "The Tonight Show" (excluding Wimbledon weeks) in households since the week ending Sept. 12, 1994, in viewers since the week ending Feb. 24, 1994 (during the Olympics), in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since the week ending Feb. 25, 2000 (when David Letterman returned from heart surgery).

LATE SHOW beat "The Tonight Show" on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and tied for first on Tuesday among adults 18-49.

THE LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON premiered with a 1.5/06 in households with 2.11m viewers, up +15% in households (from 1.3/05) and +17% in viewers (from 1.80m) from premiere week last year. LATE LATE SHOW was even in adults 25-54 (0.8/05), adults 18-49 (0.6/04) and adults 18-34 (0.5/03) compared to premiere week last year.

LATE LATE SHOW beat "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" in households by +50% (vs. 1.0/04), +14% in adults 25-54 (vs. 0.7/04), tied in adults 18-49 and by +710,000 viewers (vs. 1.40m, +51%). During premiere week last year, LATE LATE SHOW was tied with "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" in adults 25-54 and trailed NBC by -7% in households, -14% in adults 18-49 and by -20,000 viewers.

This is LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON's best weekly delivery in households since the week ending Feb. 13, 2009, in viewers since the week ending Dec. 19, 2008, in adults 25-54 since the week ending May 8, 2009, in adults 18-49 since the week ending June 5, 2009 and in adults 18-34 since the week ending May 15, 2009.

LATE LATE SHOW posted its largest margin of victory over "Late Night" (with both Jimmy Fallon and Conan O'Brien hosting) ever in both households and viewers.
